Furthermore, he arranges Sri Lankan cooking lessons for foreign guests, which is a wonderful initiative to share our food and culture with the world. What impressed us most is that all of this is offered at an affordable price, and the team works tirelessly 24/7 to give their very best to guests. Overall, Rock Shade Chalet is a perfect place for a peaceful family getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

The location was perfect, in Sigiriya, close to national parks and Lions Rock, and also close to many nice bars and restaurants. The house is placed in a beautiful garden, where you can watch some small animals like squirrels, birds and monkeys. The brakefast was big and amazing. The family was super nice and sweet, we felt very good in their home. Also they organised us a safari for a good price, and we saw many elephants. Highly recommended!

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Our stay was really great thanks to Isanka and his father who were really helpful. We were in sri lanka for the first time and this was our first destination so we didnt really know how to get around and they took us everywhere with their tuktuks, arranged a good massage and a safari and helped us with finding the bus to trincomalee. A patio with mountain views is offered in all units. Clean room with stunning view of lions rock, great air conditioning. The breakfasts were delicious and different every morning. Had scooter or bike hire to get into town. The family were so lovely and cooked the best dinners. They even arranged a us a tuk tuk for a sunrise walk up Pidurangala Rock as well as a Safari. They also arranged us a drive to take us to our next location.
