Our stay was just brilliant. A really personalised experience, the food was incredible and all activities were in small groups. We had several different dietary requirements within our group and they catered to this extremely well - lots of variety but each meal was equally delicious! Jason provided the best hospitality we’ve had in 5 months in Asia. He went above and beyond to help us organise the next parts of our trip, booking onward travel for us and giving us some great tips for our upcoming Mt Kinabalu climb! Thank you so much 😊

It's very nice and comfortable lodge especially the room with balcony. It's beyond my expectations. Very clean and tidy room. The toilet is also very clean, shower and heater works properly and great. The view from this lodge is very amazing although mount Kinabalu is not at our side but the view is still very nice and amazing. Overall, Bayu Senja Lodge ( especially the room with balcony ) is very nice, good and comfortable to stay. The management should build more room like this in the future. Once the lodge canteen starts operating, the lodge has become much better place to choose for staying.

The rooms are ok, but really in the middle of the jungle and just in front of the river The best part about the place is Lynda, she is like a living documentary she just wanted to show us all the animals in there and we saw them, Rhyno hornbill, elephants, crocodile and basically all the kind of monkeys we could see, just an amazing experience with her being the best guide possible The food was really good too and also the experiences out of the normal package I really recommend the night cruise, is something amazing being in that river in a small boat at night Loved it! If you're looking for a place to be away from the world, and like to be surrounded by beautiful nature and the best beaches, look no further. Howard is definitely the best host on the island! He takes you to and from the beach and goes out of his way to make your stay wonderful. We only stayed for 2 nights, but we wish it was 20! We slept in a simple hut with only a mattress and a fan, with showers and toilets very close by. Don't expect a lot of luxury here, but that's all part of the experience. The only other feedback I'd like to give is that the price is quite high if you're looking purely at the state of your bedroom, especially for a backpacker budget. But still, we would pay it over and over again because the service, the location and the experience make it so worth it! Don't skip this place when visiting Borneo, it's the most magical part of the island!
