In stone lodges on the edge of the Etendeka Plateau, rooms at Grootberg Lodge offer far-reaching views. With an outdoor pool, it is run by an organisation that aims to improve local welfare. Everything was superb. The staff was professional and obliging, and the view was spectacular.

The camps location is stunning , the tented rooming perfect . Watching the sun rise from the comfort of a cosy bed through our open tent entrance was amazing. The bucket shower , taken under a star filled sky , most memorable. The staff at Etendeka Mountain Camp were so friendly. The food yummy . The star gazing evening was most informative as were the local hikes guided by Glacius that we enjoyed during our stay at the camp . In addition it was lovely chatting informatively with other guests during the evenings.

The lodge is a dream. It is regularly visited by elephants that you can spot really closely just by standing in the main area or at the restaurant. The rooms are super comfortable, food is high-quality and staff is very nice. We also did the rhino tracking and we managed to spot one rhino. The guides are really professional and the experience feels totally authentic.
