Lovely place with amazing hosts. Elza and Albert were very welcoming and assisted us with great restaurant recommendations. The guesthouse is a charming place to be, few steps away from the Center and restaurants.

With mountain views, Swartberg Private Game Lodge is set in Oudtshoorn and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

driving towards the lodge is a stunning drive. arriving in this paradise valley completes the journey. We were dearly welcomed and felt at ease right away. A dip in the pool got rid of the dust from the drive. a large pool good for some lanes in the morning. We stayed at a cottage. it’s all well equipped. a strong AC will get it cool. although it was very comfortable end of afternoon. the night was cool so windows open and natural AC came in. we took a tour and David showed us some awesome spots. including a view on the giraffes. breakfast afterwards was a real treat. we left feeling like completely spoiled. which we were. it’s hard to compare this to many a standard. it was a 5 star-plus-turbo-A stay. Thanks Rudi and staff!

Loved our stay, wish we'd booked another night. The food was outstanding. Our guide was wonderful we just loved everything. Note this is a conservation lodge there is not a plethora of animals but the time with animals was wonderful.

Everything! The host Richard is the most charming, warm host I have ever met. The property is perfectly situated in a very safe, quiet upmarket area. It is quiet and feels like you are out on a farm, yet so close to town that you can take a refreshing walk. I heard some lions in the mornings from a game reserve nearby. Simply lovely. The facilities were more than adequate and I had eveything I needed and more!!

This is definitely a 'must-visit' place!! The setting and views are breath-taking! and the hostess is a special lady - she made every effort to see that we were comfy and happy! (loved the sheep grazing on the lawn). The old farm-house we stayed in is large and beautifully decorated, and the spacious kitchen is fully-stocked for large gatherings. The bathroom is huge - so i would suggest one half be added to the room as an en-suite (for full privacy), and the other half as a separate guest bathroom. This place is ideal for family gatherings! Highly recommended.

Only 10 km from the famous Cango Caves, De Poort Country Lodge offers self-catering accommodation. A continental breakfast is available on order at an extra charge and only available as room service....
