Recommend. Convenient and smart entry. Clean environment. New and well-functioning facilities, including some kitchenwares. A nice, spacious place to stay for travelling alone. Comfy to sleep over. 10-15 minute walk to the old town. Of course, faster by car or by bicycle. :)

The guest house is an old wooden building, authentically restored, with very well preserved details (floor, ceiling). The rooms are practically furnished, suitable for longer stays (up to several weeks). In our room, apart from the bedroom with a double and a single bed, there were two sofa beds in the living room. This makes it suitable for a larger family. As it turns out, one of Tartu's sister cities is Tampere in Finland. Tampere maja plays a central role in organizing bilateral relations and functions not only as a guest house but also as a cultural centre. For example, the property houses a gallery where works by Finnish and Estonian artists can be viewed, and related artworks can also be seen in the guest rooms and the dining room. Breakfast was delicious and hearty, offering both local and international dishes. The guest house is very close to the central square of the old town, but most attractions are within walking distance.

Very comfortable, charming hotel. The location is perfect for a visit to Tartu. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The dining room offered fine dining and we enjoyed two excellent meals there during our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors to Tartu
