The location was like a fairytale. I loved the chickens walking around the house and the atmosphere of the building. The building is very old but very well taken care of. Everything is so clean and very nice decorated. The bed was very good, the shower was good as well and the kitchen was fully equipped. They welcomed us with a tray with tea, cookies, and self-made cake, which was amazing! This is a great location to see the beauty of Scotland. I'm not done exploring and would come back here for sure!

The castle is absolutely stunning and a lot of care has gone to keeping the interior beautiful. The owner greeted us and could not have been lovelier to deal with. I would certainly recommend Barcaldine Castle to anyone who has a special occasion to celebrate or just deserves something lovely

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at 'The Old Shed', and what can I say? It's simply stunning! Nestled in a picturesque setting with breath-taking garden and mountain views, this charming little cabin exceeded all expectations. Despite its name, The Old Shed is actually a beautifully designed and fully equipped retreat. The attention to detail in the décor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere making it feel like a true home away from home. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need including all the essentials and thoughtful extras like cleaning supplies. Denise, our wonderful host, went above and beyond to make our stay special. Her kindness and hospitality were evident from the moment we arrived, and the welcome basket of goodies was such a thoughtful touch! The location is fantastic - just a short walk to a lovely beach and surrounded by great walking trails (plenty of information provided inside the accommodation). There's also a well stocked local (pink!) shop nearby, making everything super convenient. The Old Shed is truly a hidden gem. Peaceful, beautifully maintained, and offering everything you could want for a relaxing getaway. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!

The owner met us at the parking lot and helped with the luggage. We rented an apartment with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. We had everything we needed in the apartment and some food was provided as well (great bonus). There was a small fireplace in the living room.

The site was well maintained clear parking bays for each caravan. The view from our caravan was spectacular, a very relaxing week long break, weather fantastic for September, didn't want to come home.

The host, Jim, was very cheerful and friendly. The 35sqm cottage was nice and cozy, although I would probably not recommend it to 4 adults as the French bed is quite uncomfortable and there is just 1 bathroom, but I think it's perfect for a couple with 1-2 children. It has a lovely view over the lake and a patio with a table and a few chairs to enjoy the sunset. Free parking space is also an asset.

The place was spacious and felt cozy. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and we got a very nice email before our stay with lots of information. There was also a very helpful binder with lots of suggestions for the area which felt like the hosts were giving us ideas for what to do. We felt safe and it was quiet, it also had parking right in front of our lodge. Everything was clean and nicely prepared for us. It has a very nice view even though from time to time there are trucks driving by very fast which is loud.
