The apartment is cosy and feels like you could be anywhere in the world. The grounds are well kept, and the location is peaceful. The staff were helpful and professional.

The main Receptionist was spectacular for organising different parts of my trip I had no idea how to do! Like return my scooter. hire the ferry; get from poto Toha jetty to Sembawa Besar; then organise a person over in Sumbawa to deliver a scooter for me to use whilst there. Always offered to help with any further problems I might have.

This homestay allowed us to experience living traditionally as the locals do. Our hosts were incredibly generous and hospitable, inviting us to join in their idul-fitr celebrations. The view from the verandah was amazing, and the cacophony of prayer rising from the valley was awe inspiring.

Staying at Kurni's Cabin was a memorable experience. We stayed there for 5 nights and Didik did his very best for us to enjoy our time during our stay. The location of his single cabin was perfect with a view of Rinjani mountain's peak on the back and veggies/rice fields on the front gave us the authentic village experience we were looking for. The cabin is spacious the best part is it's made up of bamboo and wood but Didik decorated the space and garden with simplicity and creativity which were mind-blowing. Hope he doesn't overcrowd the space in the future. We also liked the small outside kitchen which gave us to prepare our own tea & coffee and light meals. The neighbors were super friendly and always maintained the noise at all times. Being vegetarian, Didik's mom gave us the best delicious Lombok food and every night was a surprise full of flavors. Our host Didik is a very friendly, cheerful young man and catered to all our needs. He took us to show his village around, Kopi Sapit (a hangout place) and shared a lot of information about Lombok culture. Unfortunately, we couldn't make the trekking trip, but I am sure he would be a nice trekking host. Overall we had an authentic village experience.

Great stay in Sembalun! The room was clean and comfortable, with amazing mountain views especially during sunrise. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Perfect place to rest before hiking Rinjani. Highly recommended!
