We love the beauty and calmness. Quiet. Birdsong and bird watching. Frogs at night chirping. Lovely simple design of the rooms looking out to simple gardens and trees full of nesting birds. An absolute haven close to the sacred city sites of Anuradhapura. Peaceful, set back about 75m from the road. Beautifully appointed rooms and a welcoming dining/reception area - exactly as shown in the photos on this site. What the photos do not reveal is the exceptional service and kindness of the owner and all of his staff. Nor do they convey the outstanding quality of the meals served. It is rare to find a welcoming home away from home as good as Golden Ray Villa and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our stay at Forest View Home Stay was absolutely perfect and one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. The room was spotless, the large bed was incredibly comfortable, there were no mosquitoes because of the large mosquito net, and the peaceful forest location offered a sense of tranquility we rarely find. What made Forest View Home Stay truly special was the host and their lovely family. They were so warm and welcoming, always going out of their way to help us. From arranging transportation to lending us sarongs for a temple visit, their thoughtfulness was unmatched. The home-cooked meals were authentic and delicious, making every dinner feel like a celebration. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful retreat surrounded by nature and hosted by some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, this is the place. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return in the future!
