The food was incredible and the hosts were so generous with it, we could not finish it all. We loved the birds and the nature surrounding the property. Roshani took us to a beautiful sunset lookout point. We loved everything about our stay!

The rustic charm and quirkiness of the treehouse exceeded expectations. The staff we’re fantastic and took us on a private safari in Udawalawe (about 25 minutes away) where we got so close to the elephants. They also arranged a guided canoe trip on the nearby lake - sadly no bathing elephants this time but plenty of other wildlife to see. The evening meal we had there was perhaps the best curry I have ever eaten and all of this at exceptionally good prices. We spoke to several people who went to Yala and spent far more, saw far less and didn’t seem get anywhere near the experience we did.

Perfect stay for those love nature. Nature house’s staff are super friendly and their service is the best. I spent 1 night but it was amazing, clean, tasty dinner and safari tour was affordable. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had the most wonderful experience at Wild Safari Nest Udawalawe – it truly felt like a little oasis surrounded by coconut and banana trees, offering peace, comfort, and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality. The outdoor pool was a perfect retreat – clean, inviting, and surrounded by lush greenery, making it ideal for relaxing after a day of adventure. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed, with high ceilings that gave it a light and airy feel. The bathroom was modern and spotless, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We also loved our private balcony with a serene garden view – the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the sounds of nature. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the incredible food. Breakfast and dinner were freshly prepared by the lovely family who runs the hotel, and everything tasted homemade, authentic, and full of flavor. It felt like dining with family – warm, welcoming, and delicious! The hotel also organized an amazing safari for us in Udawalawe National Park. Our guide was extremely experienced and knowledgeable, and the whole experience was smooth and unforgettable. We saw so much wildlife and learned so much – it was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Everything! First of all - the host, was very hospitable and professional with everything. He was very nice and arranged Safari for us even though we arrived quite late. Delicious breakfast (view dishes, we even got king coconut water freshly made). Beautiful place with unique climate! Very clean, with AC and hot water. We recommend it so much!

We absolutely loved staying at Leel's cottage. The welcome by him and his wife was super nice, and the garden on their property looks like the garden of Eden! Especially the walkway to the cottage - WOW! And we were so pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort of the cottage. It was super clean and nice and the bed very comfortable. And then best of all was Leel. He took us on a 6-hour safari and he was such a great guide. He was very knowledgeable, showing us even the smaller animals that we couldn't see. And we saw so many elephants with him! We also got to talk to him after dinner, and the kind and interesting discussions are some of my favorite memories of our whole trip. If you're looking for where to stay in the area, I would highly recommend Leel's place.

What an amazing place! The bungalows are very clean, and very well designed. I loved the shower and the hammock outdoors. The best stay of our 1 month trip to Sri Lanka. I highly recommend Amba Kola Udawalawe. We spent 3 days and never wanted to leave. Rooms and the common area are artistically designed. Super friendly host and excellent home cooked meals. Spotlessly clean rooms and peaceful surroundings. The staff here are exceptionally good - the whole place is run by a very small team who seem to work very long hours but are always friendly, helpful and smiling. They somehow manage to keep everything spotlessly clean, make delicious food, organise trips and deal with any issues, and still have time for friendly chats with guests. I hope the owners appreciate what a fantastic and hardworking team they are, the hotel wouldn't nearly as good without them. This is an excellent place to stay for visiting both Udawalawe and Lunugamvehera national parks. We asked the hotel in advance if they could arrange these safaris for us and they sorted it all out at the price I'd have expected to pay. They also arranged for transport between the hotel and both our previous and our next destinations for a reasonable price. The food here is excellent - make sure you have the curry and rice, and the Sri Lankan breakfast (request them in advance as they need time to make them). The room was clean and very comfortable, with plenty of space and all the facilities we needed. It has a good view to the back of the hotel where you can see lots of birds, including some resident peacocks. It's very quiet in the rooms, you can't hear any noise from the road and there's good soundproofing between rooms. The small swimming pool was clean and had a few sun loungers around it.
