Ekuku is a place to calm down and enjoy. The rooms are newly renovated and very comfortable. The outdoor bathroom sure is a highlight! Breakfast was delicious, with the opportunity to choose between local or western meals. If you want to eat in, the restaurant in midst of the garden offers a variety of tasty dishes. Busstop is only 10min walk away, the close beaches are all very nice. To Weligama it’s just a short busride, also to Ahangama. I felt very welcomed and well looked after! There are dogs and cats living on the grounds, which adds an extra homely feeling. The hosts Alex and Eddie helped me with transportation, tips for surfing and took me to the local market and bakery. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I will return!

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, with delicious breakfasts and extremely friendly staff. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a shot of local coconut arrack, fresh papaya juice, and a cold wet towel for refreshment — a lovely touch. Our room was spacious and even had a second exit to a terrace just a few meters from the stunning pool, where pool towels were always available. Every morning, after enjoying a fantastic serving of curd with honey and a fresh fruit platter, we were offered a choice between a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast or a Western-style breakfast — all beautifully prepared and delicious. Every day, we were provided with one liter of water per person and a fresh king coconut each. The staff checked daily if we wanted our room cleaned, fresh towels, extra toilet paper, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner — amazing care for guests. The hotel also has a private gated parking area where we safely parked our tuk-tuk, and there’s even a professional massage chair available for everyone in the common area. Highly recommended — we would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely amazing. The room was clean and spacious, very comfortable bed. We loved the pool after long trip from Colombo. Great fruit plate and tea for breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Surrounding is weird but this place is like hidden gem. Recommended!
