This is a family owned and operated business away from the noise of the town, in a tranquil setting. Sanjeev and Lalith were very welcoming, and included us in their family and friends celebration of Sinhalese new year, which was exceptional. Room 3 was very large, and the bathroom spacious and just right. A perfect setting for respite close to nature. The meals were the best we've had in 12 days so far in Sri Lanka!

Pradeep and his family who runs the hotel are very genuine and friendly persons who do their best to make sure your stay with them are great. When we firs came Pradeep took us with him to watch the sunset from one of the fields nearby. He showed us around their farm and told us about the different trees and vegetables they grow. Breakfast and dinner are Sri lankan, very tasty and well prepared. Overall it's a place with a very family friendly atmosphere and for us it was a great place to start our Sri lankan adventure.

This place was an absolute experience! The views were seriously breathtaking and most of all if you are looking to relax, connect with nature and have the best time disconnecting this is the ideal place. The food served was really delicious as well. Would recommend this 100% to anyone travelling solo or with a family.

The place is close enough from Dambulla, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa, while beeing in the middle of beautiful and calm rural area, which makes it a perfect place to be while exploring the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka! The room is equipped with a good AC system, and a moskito net. You have a beautiful view from the terrace, from which you can see a lot of birds! Moreover, Ruwan is a perfect host, he is very friendly, speaks very good English and has a lot to share! He provided us with delicious and affordable sri lankan food and will make your life easy and unforgettable while staying in his place!

The villa itself strikes the perfect balance between style and comfort. The pool is serene, the location ideal for exploring the cultural heart of Sri Lanka — Sigiriya, Pidurangala, Dambulla, and more, all easily reached by tuk-tuk. And the food? Anula’s cooking is pure magic. Every meal, bursting with authentic Sri Lankan flavor, felt like a warm hug — especially for our 9-year-old vegetarian daughter, who suddenly ate everything with joy. But what truly made Villa Mankani unforgettable were the people. Nalin — the heart and soul of this place. Yes, he’s the manager, but more than that, he’s the spirit of Villa Mankani. Kind, calm, generous — he made us feel truly seen and at home. We’ve met many wonderful people in Sri Lanka, but Nalin is in a league of his own. Binura — always warm, gentle, ready to help before you even know you need it. Anula — not just a cook, but a mama in spirit, with kindness in every word and every dish. The night guard — greeting us every evening with a smile that made us feel safe and cared for. Animals — three sweet, friendly dogs, and one tiny superstar: Ellie, the dachshund puppy who stole our daughter’s heart. Every morning began with, “Can I go see Ellie now?” When we left, there were tears… And then — the moment that left us speechless: as we were saying goodbye, Nalin quietly handed our daughter a gift — a soft little teddy bear to remember them by. That gesture, so simple and full of love, broke our hearts in the best way. Villa Mankani reminded us that true hospitality isn’t about luxury — it’s about humanity. And that the most unforgettable places are built not of bricks and mortar, but of hearts wide open. Thank you ❤️🙏!

The property is very close to Dambulla, but still in a very quiet place surrounded by the nature. The room was big, comfortable and well designed and furnished. The food was excellent too and the people working there has been lovely! A shame we only spent one night there.

We loved our stay here. The grounds were beautiful, our room was incredibly clean with a gorgeous balcony looking across the mango orchard, and the pool was absolutely lovely. The hotel is designed so that it’s very open to the outside, so you feel like you’re in the middle of nature. We loved the decorative touches, like the wall of masks and the display of colourful bangles behind the reception desk. The whole concept of the hotel, as a women-led enterprise, is unique. This was our first hotel in Sri Lanka and it was only later that we realised how unusual it is to have so many women in these roles. It gives the hotel a calming atmosphere as all of the staff were so kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived (and lit the ceremonial peacock oil lamp!). I didn’t try the spa but my mum booked a treatment and, although a bit pricey, she loved it. The buffet breakfast was delicious, with a lot of vegan and vegetarian choices, although the dinner menu was a bit limited for vegans. We stayed two nights and wished we’d booked another, as we were so comfortable here.
