The room was so nice and clean. The breakfast was delicious and we could choose exactly what we wanted to eat the day before. The staff was kind and helpful. It's an old house with a gentle renovation so the spirit of the history was preserved in a beautiful way. All in all we had a wonderful time at Thambu Illam.

Allens home stay está en Jaffna, a 7 min a pie de Templo Nallur Kandaswamy y a 1,5 km de Jaffna Railway Station. Allen, as mentioned over and over in other reviews, is the best host EVER. This kind of people makes the difference when traveling like we do, where the main goal is to enjoy the culture and people, as much as the places we visit. Allen went way beyond expectations on helping us with whatever we may need (from train schedules, arranging a great driver for a day-long tour, giving us recommendations for local places, to taking his bike and buying us some cold beers after hours, or getting up to prepare us an unusually early morning breakfast to go, due to our very early schedule), overall making us feel like his true guests despite the commercial relationship. Well-travelled, Jaffna-native but with many years in Europe, Allen is the kind of person that you hope you have more time to get to know better, and that will remain as a highlight of any trip. The property is his own home, where you rent some rooms. It is a very quiet spot in a green and shady compound in a cul-de-sac, a great respite from some of the Jaffna frenzy. Located a quick 5-min. tuk-tuk ride from the train station, it is also near the main Hindu temple of the city, a couple of blocks away. The room we rented had its own exclusive bathroom, but crossing the living room. There was another room with a full private bathroom, not available at the time. The house has a quaint feeling, very cozy and clean. The AC in the room worked fine and it was very welcomed. Breakfast was great, abundant and tasty, prepared by Allen on the spot.

The Thinnai Hotel - Jaffna se encuentra en Jaffna, a 12 min a pie de Templo Nallur Kandaswamy, y ofrece alojamiento con piscina al aire libre, parking privado gratis, centro de fitness y jardín. I loved my stay at the Thinnai (and Jaffna overall, it’s a shame that people skip this place). There was a small miscommunication about take away breakfast, but they sincerely apologised and made up for it with a surprise from the kitchen. Breakfast is also very nice and I definitely recommend the Odiyal Kool which tasted amazing!

A very beautiful villa that has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. We ended up staying here for a week because it was such a wonderful place to relax. The location is excellent for exploring the local area which is very beautiful and a welcome change of pace to the south of the island. We have been in Sri Lanka for 3 months and this was definitely the best accommodation we stayed at. We got regular messages from the host Kam checking everything was ok and if we needed anything. If your looking at exploring the Jaffna peninsula, I would highly recommend staying here.

They communicated well even before arrival and made sure there is no waiting for key collection, everything went smooth in a timely manner. It was such a peaceful stay after my rushed island tour. The garden and overall environment were wonderfully calm and quiet, allowing me to unwind completely and elevating my entire holiday experience. The Chapters was impeccably clean, and the staff were exceptionally accommodating.

Borassus Nature Huts by ABC Leisure's group se encuentra en Jaffna, a 8,8 km de Jaffna Fort y a 10 km de Jaffna Public Library. Ofrece alojamiento con restaurante y parking privado gratis. So the hotel is located in a very calm and peaceful area, making it truly an experience to live. The cabins/bungalows are really unique; it’s an experience to have, and the meal served is excellent. The servers/employees are also very respectful and very friendly. A little hello to Lakshi who handled my check-in and check-out and was extremely kind.
