Great food, local cheese, even better staff. located in a picture perfect meadow. 50 meter waterfall backdrop, Lakes on each side, and 3-4 mountain cabins straight out of a swiss alpine storybook. The 45 minute white knuckle drive was worth every jaw dropping km. Beautiful hiking trails. The many hikers I met on the 5 lake loop trail. were so friendly. the Italian swiss are so welcoming. Most amazingly fast wifi and cellular service to post every moment (get a real life if you actually do that).

The accommodation offers a lift, a shared kitchen and luggage storage for guests. Katiusca is truly the most sweet, kind, generous, warm, and welcoming host. She literally welcomed us with open arms and was so kind to us from the very first message when we had booked our stay months prior. We feel like we made a new friend! She went out of her way to explain and answer our questions regarding restaurant reservations and activities in the area. She verified times for us for the little train that goes around Bellinzona, which is an adorable little train ride and she gave us tips about the local markets and was so attentive to our every need. She offered us lovely goods from the bakery for breakfast and the vanilla croissant was so delicious and the bread she provided every day for us was some of the best bread we've ever had! And the view from our "Blue Balance" room was absolutely stunning! It had a floor to ceiling window with a gorgeous balcony and we could see the mountains and the town and the castles and there aren't enough woods in the world to say how fabulous the view was and we were able to see from the comfort of our room fireworks on New Year's Eve. The view from the shared kitchen was lovely and we were able to heat some basic things on the stove. There was no microwave but it wasn't necessary for us. She is such a lovely person and gave extra pillows in the room at our request because we were recovering from an injury. She gave us beautiful gifts when we left and offered us fantastic Prosecco when we arrived. All in all it was an extraordinary exceptional stay and we highly recommend it. She is a truly kind warm and welcoming person.

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Villa by @ Home Hotel Locarno is a guest house situated in a historic building in Locarno, 1.2 km from Piazza Grande Locarno. The property features garden and inner courtyard views, and is 5.9 km from Golfclub Patriziale Ascona. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. A dream villa! I just stayed overnight in the deluxe suite for 3 people in this wonderful villa. The directions received on the day of arrival were very clear. Even a video on how to open the safebox and then the doors left no doubt. I could recognize the building right away. It is an impeccably renovated and upscale privat villa from the last century. High ceilings and blackout curtains. The suite with a huge terrace with beautiful views made us feel we were in an exclusive place. The sofa bed for the third person was comfortable and large even if I wouldn't consider it suitable for 2 adults. Too bad we only stayed one night. We will gladly keep the address for a future stay. We found the price fair and was over 300 francs. We did not have breakfast at the hotel because we left early but there would be that option as well
