This is an amazing stay. If you got the change, you should definitly stay here. First of all, the owners and staff are super nice and helpfull. They helped us book our tours, but also.. we arrived later then planned, but one of them waited for us and was very kind. And made sure we arrived save and sound. Second of all the view is incredible. Ofcourse nobody can controll the weather, but even with clouds and rain its gorgeous. Third of all the tours they can book for you are with really good company's. Normaly I prefer to explore by myself, but considering the time we had in La Fortuna a tour was best use of time. We booked a massage and it was GOOD! Also booked a combination tour and that company was also very good. Good wildlifespotters, nice humor and respect for the nature. The pictures are like it is, so you really now what to expect. No surprises.

Everything was AMAZING. We did all three tours and can’t recommend them enough. Aurelio was a perfect guide and provided a truly priceless experience. The food was unbelievably good and very reasonably priced, and the staff were all amazing. Our lodging was clean, comfortable, and private. All around it was a very memorable and pleasant experience. Just stay here. Friendly host. Great view. Spacious room, including bath spa. Received an upgrade at no extra cost, which was greatly appreciated. The property really is just metres outside the Sky Adventure Park, not the entrance down below, as the directions are somewhat vague.

Arenal Observatory Lodge was highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Location and facilities are simply amazing. We didn’t expect to lay on our beds and watch volcano and toucans perched on the trees right by our windows! Staff is wonderful. Luis was our driver who picked us up in San Jose and told us a lot about area, tours and facilities during our ride. He was attentive and caring. He also delivered sunglasses we forgot in the shop in La Fortuna, was very kind of him. Carlos from reception helped us to receive our luggage which was delayed by airline. He informed us when luggage finally arrived. Trails are in very good conditions and have protection from rain every km or so. Trails were easy or moderate, so even my mum who is 64 coped with them and truly enjoyed it. Food in the restaurant is very tasty and well presented. Thanks to everyone in the Lodge who made our stay unforgettable!

Highly recommended: The butterfly conservatory which is literally just a few minutes walk up the street is awesome with several stunning walks, views, and stories of its own. Amazing location right on the lake with a view of Arsenal. Sitting on the balcony with a coffee each morning with the birds and butterflies in the garden was a highlight of the trip. The fusion restaurant is really good too. Daniela on reception was so helpful with late checkin/out and sorting transport to La fortuna and our trip onward.

Beautiful location, a bit steep and rocky up that hill, so you need a 4x4 ! View of the lake and volcano is worth it! The infinity pool is amazing! We loved Fabian and he does a great massage! Hearing the howler monkeys in the distance in the morning was special!

Essence is based in an outstandingly beautiful location with breathtaking views of Volcán Arenal and Laguna Arenal. The large grounds are wonderfully maintained and home to an extraordinary variety of flora and fauna. The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly, and well-informed. I mostly spoke to Ariana who is so friendly, enthusiastic, and kind. I was particularly pleased to book an early morning birding tour in which we saw a hummingbird nest. I loved my stay!

Nice place with amazing view. The pool is beautiful, a little cold though so the jacuzzi is a big plus (it would be wonderful to have a view from there as well). The stuff is really kind and helpful. Clean rooms. We loved the location, el Castillo is a great alternative to la Fortuna, quiet yet close to everything with nice restaurants.

Lovely location with amazing views! Staff super helpful and the on-site restaurant phoenix did a great breakfast & dinner & accommodated us as vegetarians! The location is great for the views but if you aren’t driving then be prepared to get taxis (we used Uber with no issues) as even the short walk to el Castillo is up a very steep hill on the way back so wouldn’t be suitable for everyone. I had a massage and we used the laundry facilities & all was great!

The B&B is in a truly lovely location, set back and up from the lake road - probably a mile of windy track. it is surrounded by forest and there is a lot of wildlife and beautiful views.
