Fantastic Stay – Convenient, Clean & Thoughtful! I had a wonderful experience at this guest house and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! 1️⃣ Great Location: The place is super convenient—just a short walk from the station and close to major attractions. There’s even a Lawson convenience store nearby, making it easy to grab snacks or essentials. 2️⃣ Spotlessly Clean: The room and shared spaces were immaculate, which made my stay very comfortable. It’s clear that the host takes hygiene seriously! 3️⃣ Thoughtful Amenities: I was impressed by how well-stocked the place was—they provided everything from body lotion and makeup remover to deodorizing spray. These little touches made my stay so much more comfortable. 4️⃣ Smooth Unmanned Check-In: The self-check-in system was seamless and hassle-free. I arrived late at night, but the process was quick and easy—no stress at all! Overall, this guest house offers great value with its prime location, cleanliness, and attention to detail. The premises were very well kept. We enjoyed going around town on the bikes. We have slept on futons in other places that were very hard but these futons were actually comfortable. We stayed here one night before heading into the mountains and for that purpose Shingū was a good stop. Big supermarkets to fuel up for walks.

The area is a good gateway to important Kumano Kodo spots. Moss House is a short walk from Miwasaki train station. The apartment has everything you need, the kitchen is well-equipped. It is clean and practical. There is space to park your car. But most importantly, Fumi-san who runs Moss House is a gracious and hospitable host. Her and her husband have been incredibly helpful and made us feel very welcome.

The facility is charming! It is a wooden cottage in the middle of mountains with beautiful view. There is a river just next by, so if you get there early, you can refresh yourself there. The rooms are spacious and there is a place you can hang your wet clothes. There is also a common space where you can hang out with other guests. I also used it when my room-mate wanted to sleep and I was still working on PC. Very useful and convenient. There's very well working Wi-Fi, as well. The dinner was delicious. We had seasonal steamed vegetable with rice. They have vegetarian (tofu) and non-vegetarian (meat dumplings) version. For breakfast there were toasts with cheese, jams, peanut butter, yogurt, fruit etc. You can also prepare a meal for your next journey. The beds are comfortable and you have great view from windows. The kitchen is very well equipped and you can use it if you need. You can make yourself coffee anytime, which I very appreciated. The staff was friendly and very helpful. She could speak Japanese, English and Spanish, which was quite fun because all the guests there could also speak Spanish for some reason. :-D

It was the first time I had stayed in a guest house style accommodation and I was very very impressed with the level of detail. It felt like I was at home. The kitchen was very well set and the lovely host had even put my name to welcome me in a card at my door that was very impressive. We arrived early around 12 noon and we were able to drop our bags and at that time so that was really helpful.

A great place to stay when exploring Kumano Kodo. All our requests were filled - and more! The owner is great, the room (the smaller room) is very cozy and we slept well on the tatami + mattresses. Even when it was cold outside, the AC/heater kept the room warm, and there was multiple blankets to use as well. Everything, including the room and the shared areas, were super clean and nice! Thank you!

Everything. The best place where I slept in my trip to Japan. Good location, clean, cute, silent and comfortable place. Amazing room only for me, common space and a wonderful owner. She was very helpful, attentive, funny and I would like to stay more days, but my trip didn't allow it. Great value for the price. Obviously if I come back there in the futute, I will sleep there again. THANKS SEIKO!

The property was super super CLEAN and very well appointed. The bedding was next level comfortable. The host (Koji) was unbelievably helpful. Made excellent recommendations for restaurants and also booked for us. He also had great bikes available for use free of charge. The location was really convenient. The house was lovely and set in a wonderful surrounding. Shingu was great, wish we had stayed longer

We drove to the location and the parking is not a problem. Response form owner is prompt and very helping. Room is excellent and clean. No elevator but owner helped to carry. Also provide lots of information regarding nearby tour plan. Highly recommend!

The hostess is very kind. We arrived earlier than the appoitment and sent the hostess a message to get permission of putting the luggage. When we found the house and entered the room, everything was ready, the air condition was working, the room was clean and cool. Everything was comfortable. The location is good, very close to the HAYATAMA TAISHA. By the way, there is a very delicious ice house nearby-just1-2 minutes for walking.

We really enjoyed our stay. Shingu was really calm and the people in the town where genuinely very kind and wanted to have a chat with you. The hostel was super clean and the hostel owners where extremely nice and helpfull. We used this hostel as the location for a trip to nachi and sightseeing in shingu itself, I would recommend staying for more than one night, we w here glad we did. (Also, the beds where really nice, we slept well)

Hosts are nice. Rooms are clean. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of a trandition Japanese house, great for culture experience. Location easy to approach, not far away from train and bus station. It was surpised that there's bathtub, which prefect for relaxing after visited Kumano kodo.
