i would definitely recommend this hotel. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, modern rooms, a marina by the river gives you the opportunity to relax and swim on warm days. it is an ideal place to visit the canton of Neuchâtel and the surrounding towns. If one could award this establishment 6* I would ( and believe me, I am particular!) The perfectly designed studio, with separate bedroom and bathroom, was exceedingly spacious, exceptionally well presented, scrupulously clean and well-equipped ( we cooked a 3 course meal). We booked breakfast, and our host, Carmen, was attentive and totally absorbed in attending to every detail. The tray of delights was brought to our room at the agreed time, and was superb!!! She even asked "how would you like your eggs....😀

A perfect room for a family with small kids. The panoramic view is amazing. There is a hiking path to the lake of Murten just underneath the hotel. 20 minutes drive to Papiliorama, if you want to be there early. The best is to be at Papiliorama as soon as it opens in the morning. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

We can only recommend this stay and would come back in a heartbeat. The room and facilities were great and the garden is gorgeous. The hosts were very friendly and eager to help. They even accomodated secure storage beyond checkout time for my mother's luggage who had a broken collarbone.

We loved staying at the quaint little ‘Ofenhaus’! It was everything we expected, based on the Booking.com description, and maybe even a bit better. :) The cleanliness was exemplary! I really am quite exacting concerning hygiene — and this place was literally spotless! The whole place smelt of fresh laundry when we walked in — it really doesn’t get any better than that! The water temperature and pressure in the shower are great! Since both my husband & I have long, luxurious hair, this is a crucial point for us. Many holidays have been ruined, alas, because of bad (cold, weak) showers — but not at the ‘Ofenhaus’! Everything works to perfection! The location is really quiet & calm, but the beautiful medieval town of Murten can be reached on foot (via a short walk of 1km). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book the ‘Ofenhaus’ again if we happened to stay in the area in the future!
