It's clear the new management has poured love and effort into this place, and it shows everywhere you look. The upgrades are fantastic: a beautiful new swimming pool, a gorgeous new restaurant area, and lovely updates to the rooms and backyard. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the service was excellent and so attentive. A special thanks to the manager, Anu, who went above and beyond to check on us and attend to all our needs, making us feel incredibly valued. With all the amazing improvements and the incredibly warm service, it truly felt like a second home. We will definitely be coming back again. This place has tuned into a real hidden gem!

A bit hard to find, behind some shops and apartments, you have to go under the building through, well, a short tunnel really. Maps is fairly accurate so just look for a gap in the building. On the other side is an old house which is the Nobel Regency which should have seemed "hemmed in" by the apartments, but it wasn't as it is set in lovely gardens with many plants. It's an old house with old furniture, retro but very comfortable. Multiple common areas both inside and outside. I had a very big room with a huge bathroom which was original to the house and dated, a bit of a time-warp really, but very clean and perfectly comfortable. Good a/c and fan. Hot water and good water pressure. Comfortable bed. I was hot and tired from my motorbike journey and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. They bought me a welcome drink. After I had showered, I asked for tea and a snack, and they bought me fruit and then tea and cake on the verandah. Nothing was too much trouble. I sat and read a book and they kept checking that I was comfortable and had everything that I wanted. I did notice that one of the rooms was small because they had added an en-suite bathroom in a sort of prefabricated unit inside the room. That seemed a bit unusual. But I suppose it is perfectly functional. It is an inexpensive place to stay. Very good Sri Lankan curries and rice dinner, fruit and dessert. Breakfast was also very good. This was a perfect choice for me. I didn't explore the town as I was only on a stopover for one night, and I left early the next morning. It was very comfortable with good food and fantastic hosts.

The service was warm and attentive, with the staff going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their hospitality really made a difference and added a personal touch to the stay. That said, a little extra attention to maintenance would take this place from great to exceptional. Some areas could use a bit of upkeep to match the overall charm of the property. But honestly, it didn’t take away much from the experience—we still had a fantastic time. Highly recommended for couples, solo travelers, or anyone looking to unwind close to nature!

Το Glimra eco lodge διαθέτει μπαλκόνι και βρίσκεται σε Hambegamuwa σε Monaragala District. I traveled to this lodge alone and felt the entire time like I was visiting family. Roshani was so attentive, thorough and communicative. She not only provided accommodations but invited me on various cultural experiences so I could get a first hand experience. I highly recommend staying here!

Even though hotel is located by the Ella-Wellawaya road, the location is very calm. Construction wasn't done in some parts of the facility. But the available rooms were at good standard. Good value to your money.

Our host, Bhathia, took such loving care of us. He showed us and explained the many plants in his garden. His mother is an amazing cook and spoiled us every day with a hearty breakfast and a wonderful dinner. The private safari in the nearby Yala Park was also very nice; we even saw a leopard. The house has no windows, but that wasn't a problem at all. Quite the opposite: it was lovely to hear all the animals and birds—real wildlife at day and at night. There is a mosquito net over the bed so you can sleep peacefully and not get bitten by moskitos. A small river behind the house is perfect for cooling. All in all, a very nice stay in the middle of nature with very friendly and helpful hosts. Don't expect luxury, but everything is very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back sometime.
