Suzi was amazing and provided us with a bottle of wine which was great because my daughter and her fiance accompanied us to our place and we toasted to their upcoming wedding at Castle Bled. Suzi's children were so sweet and made us a Slovenian flag magnet which I have happily displayed on my refrigerator. We had our own spot in their garage which was so nice after having to find parking in our other locations which was difficult. I am so happy that we found this beautiful, comfortable and affordable place.

My son told me that everything was great, cleanliness, location, access, parking...everything and asked me to give them a good rating. (I hope that they, as guests, were also polite and tidy :) )

The property is non-smoking and is located 49 km from Trieste Train Station. The facilities are very clean and well-maintained. While it's clearly meant to be a hostel, the common areas are also rather stylish and pleasant to be in, with books to read and board games to pass the time. The organization and is also great, with clear instructions next to appliances and such. The owner and staff are very kind and full of information about the local area, and there are also plenty of maps and other reading material about local events available in the common area. The area around the hostel has a few bakeries and shops, and there's a few bus stations near that take you to the center of town, as well as a train station (note - the google maps location of the train station isn't quite right! It's actually under where the buses turn around). Other than the occasional train and minor noise coming from a nearby workshop, the area is very quiet. Every bed has an assigned place on the food shelf in the kitchen, and a locker with a key inside the rooms. The mattresses are comfortable and there's a privacy curtain on the beds, as well as a reading light. You can also turn off the main room light from your bed.

Marjan and Tamara greeted us warmly with delicious food and shared incredibly helpful tips about the region and the best places to visit to fully enjoy the country. The beds were very comfortable, the sauna was easy to use, and the home had everything we needed to cook and relax while taking in the beautiful view. A delightful surprise awaited us with a delicious breakfast served early in the morning. When we decided to head to the beach, Tamara thoughtfully provided beach towels, which made our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place with genuine human connection and kind, welcoming hosts, this is absolutely the place to stay. Highly recommended!

The Pira hotel is actually in the middle of a village close to Postoina, so it is recommended to have a transport. Very calm and clean place. I am sorry we couldn't check the Pira restaurant but judging by the quality of the hotel it is supposed to also be a little gem. Our room was spacious, clean, warm enough for the winter season, well equipped. The staff is friendly and ready to support. Breakfast is also nice with an accent on local products.

Routs for bicycle rides. It's close to the "civilization" but still far away enough for peaceful staying.

They surpassed our expectations! The apartment is new, clean, well-equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, tv, iron, etc). They also offer wine tastings since Aleksander is a certificated sommelier! This goes beyond accommodation: it is an experience to meet the culture of the local producers in the Vipava Valley. We can’t recommend it enough.
