The Ebner's Waldhof am See Resort & Spal has very spacious family rooms. The spa area, especially the heated pool, is magnificent. You can come to lunch in a terry robe straight from the spa area. I really liked the food - a large variety of tasty and healthy food - you can even make your own smoothie from apples, carrots, sellerei and ginger. For dinner, you can choose from several menus, including vegetarian cuisine. Dinner dishes are served and decorated at the level of Michelin 5 stars. Every day the hotel has a new plan of events. The hotel is run by a family, their care and attention are present in every corner of the hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel is very warm, welcoming and friendly.

The breakfast spread was impressive! Even though we were there for three nights, we never got sick of the breakfast spread. The salad and cheese bar at dinner was also great, although the dinner courses we had on the first night had room for improvement. The location was perfect! It was right by the main promenade in Ortisei, and a short walk to the Seceda and Alpe di siusi cable cars. The spa facilities were beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed the hydrafacial and sports massage that we booked after a tiring day of hiking. I can see myself returning for a longer stay to enjoy the facilities. There are sufficient facilities to keep you occupied even if you stayed at the hotel throughout the day.

A gorgeous location in the mountains. The spa is maze of wonderful facilities. The opening hours for the spa are great allowing you to see it at different times of day. The restaurant was good with a combination of buffet and ordering off the menu. It was my partners birthday and they brought out a cake without me asking, they’d clearly seen his date of birth at check in and taken note. A lovely touch! They also have music each night and various different activities and hikes for you to get involved with. The staff were friendly.

Perfect location in front of the Königssee. The receptionist was super kind to give us a FREE room upgrade to a very nice and newly renovated room with balcony and direct view of the Königssee. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and at home. My partner was sick and Dominic got out of his way on his day off to make sure we had everything needed to make this stay as comfortable as possible. Igor was very friendly and extremely helpful into indicating to us the hotspots to visit in Salsburg. The room was very clean and very eco-friendly and well organized we needed the temperature to be higher due to one person being sick and they were very happy to oblige and they were very understanding. In the end of our stay, we even thought of extending our stay for another day unfortunately they were fully booked and even then they organized for us to keep our baggage secure and even offered a small room where we could have our lunch take a shower and use the bathroom. We highly recommend the apartment and the hotel.

Bolzano is a perfect spot for exploring the lower reaches of the Dolomites with very good train connections to Verona, Venice, Innsbruck and beyond. The old town is gorgeous to walk around and off course the must see attraction of The Bolzano Iceman. Otzi, 5300 year natural Mummy should be number 1 on the 'cannot be missed list'

Monteux is an exceptional place. we visited the Christmas markets and had a day out at Gstaad. Boats were not running, but it was winter, so we knew that. We took the MOB to Gstaard, train was excellent - Gstaard exceptional for a few hours visit. We decided to go and walk through the cobbled area of Old Town Montreux, but thee was nothing there -nice view when we go to the top, but nothing interesting on the way up.

Lugano is a wonderful big town/small city. Amazing views in all directions. So many amazing hikes available, so just soak up the energy of downtown. Hike along the lake to Gandria. You can bus (or funicular) up to Mt. Bre and hike in many directions from there. Ferry across the lake to Italy for lunch. So many possibilities!

Solden isn't my favourite- but we were early in the season...

Solden isn't my favourite- but we were early in the season so didn't get the true vibes. It sells itself as a big ski area, but it felt like smaller parts connected rather than a big area. It has long run which I think give it the km but the valley runs are not open in early season ( as expected) The views however are gorgeous and. Nice variety of ski runs especially when it's the first week back and you want to be easy on the legs. The village was one long street. That was then easy to navigate. I don't understand why there are so many table top dancing bars and so glaringly obvious! That is not what we go to Austria for and it really drops my impression of the town. You don't want to be walking your children to dinner and seeing that right on the main street.
