Budapest is a fantastic city, charming, easy to get around,...
Budapest is a fantastic city, charming, easy to get around, and full of character. You can plan a packed 3-day itinerary to cover the highlights, or take it slow and enjoy the city over a week. Most attractions are close to each other, and if you don’t mind walking, you can see a lot in just a couple of days. The cruises are worth trying, the weather is pleasant, the roads are clean, and the public transport is excellent. If you’re staying more than 3 days, it’s best to get a travel pass instead of buying single tickets. Public transport is well-connected and affordable, though taxis can feel pricey fine if you want comfort, but not essential. Personally, I loved every bit of the city and would happily return soon.Guest review byJoevimalrajUnited Arab Emirates - 8.0

The city has many faces: tourist centre, cozy areas, modern skyscrapers, small houses, brutalist panel buildings, etc. You can find your own place in Belgrade you will really enjoy -- just keep searching. Belgrade is full of bakeries, cafes, restaurants, museums, and atmospheric old houses. The negative sides are: lots of trash, graffitis, chaotic parking, heavy traffic, and smoking (it's allowed everywhere, including cafes).Guest review bySir_LancelotCzech Republic - 8.0

Linz is an industrial and admin centre on the (definitely not blue) Danube river . Small airport with (as at July 2025) 2 flights a week from London STN. Pedestrianised town centre with a mix of old and new architecture gives no clue that the pleasant clean town has an active steel works. No special tourist draw but a reasonable base for touring and onward travel, Large Danube cruise ships stop at Linz but most passengers are sent to Salzburg by coach and make minimal contribution to the Linz economy.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Passau is a gem!
Passau is a gem! Wonderful architecture, beautiful laid back ambience, great array of cafes , bars and restaurants and the overwhelming sense of the cultural heights that humanity can achieve. The presence of the Danube pervades all-and boat trips are a must. This is a " must visit"-again and again!!!Guest review byDavid StewartUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It's a nice city, but unfortunately almost every adult smokes and most cafes don't enforce a non-smoking policy. I unfortunately stayed in the centre of Stari Grad where all the loud bars and clubs are and there is no real legal policy on noise pollution. I honestly don't know how people live here full time. Due to this, I had to stay in a lot of other places on the weekends (+ I also visited Belgrade on occassion). This meant I could (hopefully) get some quality sleep. But having said this, I didn't get to fully explore the city and all it has to offer but the main area of Stari Grad is very nice culturally and a nice place to walk. I also think the river should be more accessible with nice paths alongside it. It's either a main stretch of busy road or once you hit a certain place it's blocked off and you have to pay the beach venue to access it which is a shame.Guest review byTomUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is a quaint town with old well preserved buildings and wineries in the area. For me it has a family connection as my 3x great grandfather was born there in 1826 and some of the places he lived and worked at still survive.Guest review bytedUnited States - 10.0

Galati was special, two days was a bit short.
Galati was special, two days was a bit short. - We took an early morning ferry over the Danube and back as foot passengers before breakfast. Fabulous sunrise, nice adventure. - Evening walk along the Faleza with beautiful impressing sculptures from the seventies. - Recommend restaurant Blue Acqua, good athmosphere and delicious fish dishes. Vegetarian options too. 20 minutes walk from the hotel along the Faleza. - We went sightseeing some fascinating abandoned steel industry areas.Guest review byAgnesRomania - 10.0

Nice to walk around by the riversides and within the city. Restaurant "Mahlzeit in Melk" has friendly staff, worth to sit in if hungry. House on the rock is an interesting house, worth to wander and wonder it around.Guest review byGáborHungary - 8.0
Marshall Cafeteria in Traian Square. Fantastic Cakes.
Marshall Cafeteria in Traian Square. Fantastic Cakes. One day I had “ Champagne “ . Next day “ Savarina”. But Champagne probably was of the best cake I had in my life. Rest of them. Red Velvet, Amandina, Carpați, Diplomat, Ecler, Backavas with chocolate, Baclavas for Fasting, drink “ Braga”. And many, many more. For exemple : Last time I drank Braga it was when I was a child. 8 to 10 years old. Now I am 57. So, was worth it this trip to Braila. I the the readers to decide about.Guest review byAdrianAustralia
