We liked this beautiful hotel and place very much. If in german schön mean nice or awesome, it is really nice. Quiet place, breathtaking views around, exceptional indoor-outdoor pool, the breakfast everything was awesome. Wish come back again next year, because we have August round trips to Alps every year. By the way, the Platzl restaurant 100 m away was also incredible.

Lovely room, lovely breakfast, stunning location and Christian the owner was brilliant. We used the Gasthof Schontal as a base for travelling to and from Kitzbuhel for a days skiing and the Hahnenkahm races. A half hour drive takes you to Kirchberg in Tyrol where there is free parking and a free shuttle train which takes you into Kitzbuhel itself. Perfect

Absolutely fantastic 2 week stay. It's quite a bit out of the way of the ski area, needing a car and we also needed snow chains- so beware. However, the place is super comfy, feels new, secluded and the hosts were just fantastic and so helpful- helping us to rescue our run away dog- thank you thank you thank you!! We also enjoyed the fresh milk and eggs from the cows and chickens just next door :) The views of the Alps are fantastic!

Friendly welcome from the owner, who spoke to us in english which was welcome as our german is limited. She made an effort to speak to the children and give us key information. We actually got a room upgrade, which was lovely. The owner was there every day and we had a set table daily which was nice. Pool was a good size and temperature. There was a daily menu of the main meal. The room was big and had a balcony. The bathroom was ok, perfectly adequate. Location for the hotel is at the end of the village, but a perfect location for us. It takes 4-5 mins to walk into the village. Near the cable car lift, spar and cafes. The village is friendly. The hotel had a swimming pool and games room which the children liked. There was also a trampoline and rabbits outside. Staff friendly and helped when we asked. Food was a good experience, they took account of vegetarian request. Lots of storage in the rooms which was nice.

The hospitality from the staff was exceptional, the best we have seen in a very long time. There were so many thoughtful touches from the housekeeping staff that made our stay that much more comfortable. We picked the dinner and breakfast package, which was spot on, and the restaurant had a very friendly atmosphere. We even made some new friends with those that we were sat next to. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The hotel has a very nice location, a lot of facilities and, very important to us, a very welcoming staff. You can really feel it is a family run hotel. It is very clean, the food is good as well, we really enjoyed spending a part of our summer holiday there.

Very relaxing stay in a friendly classic Austrian village hotel: good service, half board good value and tasty food. Complimentary bus and gondola journeys offset the tourist taxes and added value to our stay. Fantastic views and ambience. Recommended!

There was lot's of choice with the continental breakfast. The only thing I would have liked were coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms. The bed's and rooms themselves were very comfortable indeed.

I like the apparthotel it really gives you the home feel like. My toddler love the place, he enjoy running around and it's really spacious. This is really recommended especially if you got kids.
