Where to start... this place is a gem. The location is incredibly rare and special. The sounds of the birds, bats and insect life are unique and it's just so lovely to fall asleep and wake up to.
The walking trails, make sure you have enough light left in the day to not get lost! It's an adventure exploring all the tracks. My favourite track was the boardwalk that went along the creek. That blew my mind! How can something be so pretty!
We enjoyed collecting the colourful fruits and pods on the forest floor. Never seen anything like them before.
The rooms are basic but large and comfortable. The bathroom is squishy but we didn't mind. It's just a bathroom.
The owners are so lovely. They brought us a microwave and plates etc so we could heat up the food we brought. They also have a BBQ and there's a fridge and kettle in the room.
I wanted to stay there for longer. I've already told my friends to stay there and they have booked for July!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Epiphyte B&B. Matt is a fantastic host and made sure everyone felt really welcome. With his welcoming nature he managed to build a community right from the start with everyone having dinner and breakfast together (there was absolutely no pressure to do so but we all enjoyed it very much and even those with kitchen facilities in their cabins tended to come over to the bigger communal kitchen).
Apart from that, the B&B is right in the middle of the forest, surrounded by absolutely incredible nature. It offers extremely easy access to the daintree rainforest as well es the Great Barrier Reef which is only a 25min boat ride away.
I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough! Thanks Matt, you made my first few days in Australia truly special :)

The host and the setting felt incredibly home-like, which made my stay very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the breakfast, with homemade spreads that were a thoughtful touch, and the breads were absolutely delicious. A wonderful, cozy experience overall!

Cosy settled in the rainforest with 20 meters to next cabin. Only 7 cabins, total, we had 2x since traveled with our teenage kids. This made us feel special to the wonderful staff we met, and what a kitchen.

Amazing place in the middle of wild nature! The staff is excellent and very helpful. The dinner is very varied in the restaurant. It is recommended to do the waterfall route near the hotel - the natural water pools are amazing!

Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place.
Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place. You can walk along the long, beautiful beach with the ocean on one side and tropical rainforest on the other. When you walk back into the rainforest you are on a boardwalk which takes you through huge mangroves then through the tropical rainforest with a stunning variety of rainforest trees and other plants. You see lots of butterflies as well as birds, goannas and fruit bats. It is a place that fills you with awe.

Daintree is OK for a one-day visit.
Daintree is OK for a one-day visit. That is enough time to take in the views of the beaches and to do all the boardwalks.
You need to stock up on groceries before arriving if you are self-catering - the grocery options are very limited.
There is no swimming on any of the beaches.

We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)

Beautiful location, stunning views. We stayed in large spacious house close to the beach. We took all of our own food as there were excellent kitchen facilities. The beach is stunning. The Daintree area has lots to offer.

Your right between Mossman, The Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Great location to access all the wonderful surrounding places. Whether visiting Mossman Gorge or the markets, seeing a wildlife tour on the Daintree or the many wonders of Cape Tribulation. There all essentially at your doorstep.

Diwan is a one of the oldest parts of the Daintree Rainforest. Just beautiful !!! You need to catch the ferry over the river to get to the northern side to access this location. Need to be aware the cost to catch the ferry back and forth.
Many things to do and see on the north side of the river to keep amused.

Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions. Highly recommended for nature lovers, hikers and anyone who wants to get away from it all. Getting away from it all includes not a whole lot of phone reception, so take a printed map. Limited groceries available so if you are self catering best to shop beforehand in Cairns or Mossman.

Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation. A must see if you are heading to Cairns, Palm Cove or Port.Douglas. It’s is a world heritage site. We did indigenous tour at Mossman gorge which was great. Beautiful tropical trees and fauna. Fresh healthy air. You must do it!

Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape...
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there.
Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds.
It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options.
Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience.
You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit.
The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space.
TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.
