Plan for a lot of walking although it's easy to hop on/off trams. Delicious restaurants, gelato shops and bakeries on just about every block. We were surprised at how crowded it was in early September, but the weather was temperate, so a good time to go. Booked room with a mountain view. However, on reaching the property, upgraded to Lake view at a cost of CHF 20 per day. Room had amazing view of Lake and hills. Property is located in Weggis and is easily accessible from Boat and bus ( Frequency of 30mins to 60mins). Town is very peaceful and one can enjoy beautiful walk around the lake. We were travelling by car, and wanted to be somewhere near Lucerne where we planned to have supper. Huobschur is in the most beautiful setting. Natural paradise with clean air, exquisite views, beautiful bird sound, delightful donkeys and goats. And an extremely gracious, kind and accommodating host and his small team. A total refreshment for our tired travelling spirits! We loved the wooden cabin, simply and beautifully furnished with wooden furniture. Beautiful spacious room, very comfortable bed and great shower. The breakfast was exceptional with homemade bread, delicious locally produced fruit yoghurt and muesli, delicious meat and cheese and lovely fresh fruit. All great value for money. What a gem! We stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t enough time.
We stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t enough time. I would highly recommend the transportation museum-it’s more like a destination. It’s also free with the Swiss Travel pass. Don’t miss the Lion Monument and Glacier Park that is next to it. Be sure to take a boat ride to relax and enjoy Lake Lucerne and visit Mt. Rigi along the way. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance for Mt. Pilatus due to weather-use the weather cams to check out weather at the top of the mountains. The Military Fortress is also a fascinating place to see and marvel at the location in which it was constructed, it might be chilly for some, but they provide coats if needed.
