We had a fantastic stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. The service and housekeeping was on point as you would expect from a Mandarin Oriental, bringing attention to every detail. The pool area transports you to a resort atmosphere, forgetting you are in the middle of the city. The restaurant Matsuri was phenomenal, we ate there on multiple occasion because we wanted to explore all that the menu could offer. A short ballet rendition of the Nutcracker was organized in the lobby around Christmas time which lifted everyone's spirit. Will come back whenever visiting Santiago.

The small staff is always so helpful and story nice (as are the owners), rooms are super quiet and super clean. The location is very close to the airport bus and other public transport. Overall the vibe there was also great. Not like a hotel more like a very big house. Never felt crowded at any point. I came back five times for all my stops in Santiago.

I arrived in Santiago from several days in the dormitory at Portillo where I got sick. I also injured my back and was in tremendous pain. On top of all that, my bus reservation kept getting canceled because the road to Mendoza was closed due to snow. Everything should have been a disaster. But it was not. The apartment was very comfortable and a very cozy place to rest while I waited for the road to open. I never met German, but he was a great host and very responsive and flexible. But his housekeeper Marie and her husband the building doorman David really saved me. They helped me get my huge snowboarding bag and my other bags to the bus station and waited there with me until the bus arrived. David negotiated the transport of my additional bags with the driver and got them in the luggage compartment. I was no longer sick, but I was in a lot of pain and don't think I could have done it on my own. I was very lucky to have booked this place. I highly recommend Kaori Express Sushi a block away. They delivered most of my meals while I was sick and were also a big help. The neighborhood around Terminal Sur is no Bella Vista. But I never felt unsafe there despite being in a vulnerable situation. I was a little sad to leave the apartment. Great internet!

It was not my first trip to Santiago.

It was not my first trip to Santiago. There is a lot to see, and nice to simply walk around in the center, do some real or window shopping and have good food in the restaurants, and delicious tortas in the cafes. I was surprised there is no more cannon fire at noon on the top of Santa Lucia hill.

It's a nice city. But watch for the taxi drivers. They will scam you if they can. Not all But some. Pay cash if you can. If you us cards make sure you can see the screen all the time on their tapping machine.

Santiago is a quiet clean city.

Santiago is a quiet clean city. Several museums and attractions. Pre Columbian, Fine Arts, Plaza de Armas, Funicular, Very good restaurants especially for seafood and empanadas. Good base for regional day trips. Excellent transportation system clean and efficient to get around Santiago, to/from SCL and for day trips.
