We stayed in Blansko only for one night in order to go to the Karst. It was a manageable trip by train from Prague and then taxi to our hotel at the Karst. The buses from the train station to the Karst are limited, but a cab was easy to get and pretty cheap. The area by the Karst was gorgeous. We enjoyed about a 30 hour trip - train from Prague, cab to hotel at the Karst, hike, drinks, dinner, spend the night, two fantastic tours in the caves, taxi back to town, late lunch/early dinner in Blansko, and back to Prague on the train. It was well worth all the travel.Guest review byMauraUnited States - 10.0

It is a short drive from the Macocha abyss and Punkva caves. It would have been nice to visit more caves and do some hill-walking. We stayed in Brno separately, but unless you want evening entertainment there, it is close enough (20 min drive) to visit from Křtiny (Villa Tugendhat is a must-see there). In Křtiny, we also found a nice café/bar just behind the post office and there is another restaurant opposite. There is a friendly atmosphere in the place. Everybody says hello. Zámek Křtiny - being run by Mendel University Brno - is surely a great place for conferences. Equally great for weddings (with the church next door and nice scenery).Guest review bybkirsteGermany - 2.0
Hospitality however is not their strength.
Hospitality however is not their strength. The men working at the hotel don’t bother look at you, they don’t give tourist information (or not complete, such as that you can’t visit the caves with little children), and are just not good at hosting. Childfriendly should be the quality of the hotel; and yes there is a playcorner, but it isn’t open every day. And for the babybed you have to pay extra, something they forgot to tell (also for the sauna, which costs a fortune). The bill was full of extra costs. It was not at all what we expected and we will advise you not to go to hotel stara skola!Guest review byg.Netherlands - 10.0

A small village that has a very good Penzion/restaurant in it. Great food and service for great prices. A place where one can go hiking, shopping, sightseeing. and or caving nearby with just a short drive in a car or a ride on a bike. It is a quit place with rolling hills all around it. If somebody does not like big towns with a lot of traffic and people, this place is for you.Guest review byGeorgeUnited States - 10.0

If you have a car, there are a lot of possibilities what to do. Within the distance from 15 minutes to max one hour of driving, you can find many caves, castles, water activities, hiking routes and much more.Guest review byAlexandraSlovakia - 8.0
Village. One shop one restaurant (good), forests and fields.
Village. One shop one restaurant (good), forests and fields. A few kilometres away from lake for swimming, about three km (two miles) from town, say ten kilometers to famous cave and abyss (Macocha). Nature around, relax. Brno city is about forty kilometers with all shops, clubs, etc. This is sleepy hollow in good meaning. Several castles within twenty kilometers radius.Guest review byOndrejSweden
