A truly outstanding stay! The room was comfortable with a brand-new bathroom, and the view from the terrace was just stunning. The owning couple are such lovely people who clearly put a lot of care and attention into every detail. Breakfast was amazing and far above what you’d normally expect in this area. Overall, this hotel offers so much more than the usual standard – highly recommended!will come back for sure!!

You are given a unit to yourself, which is basically a double story house. There is a TV and kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The shower and bathtub were both quite fancy with various settings and great water pressure. The windows all had the automatic outside blinds which assisted in keeping the room dark and at a good temperature. It was also close to city centre, which was great as we walked everywhere.

Great place with wonderful owners. The room was very fresh and spotless. Breakfast and dinner were both really good. I do enjoy that you need to order beforehand. The portions are very generous. The hotel is in a good location beside the cable car station. The price I paid was incredible value for the quality of the facilities and food…the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The four course dinner was very good quality although the portion size could perhaps have been a little larger after a day of hiking. Cake was also provided in the afternoon which unfortunately I missed out as I was out. I also appreciated the travel pass which saved me a lot of money for my bus journey home as well as a visit to nearby Goslar. I was also very impressed by the staff at mealtimes as well as the man at reception who was very welcoming.

It was a very calm environment. Perfect for resting. You were able to declare that you don’t wanna be distrubed during the stay and have privacy in your room which worked pretty well. For not getting room service you got a free water. It was quiet during the night and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and perfect for vegans as well. We were surprised. There is a private entrance to a hike trail on the property of the hotel and you are able to join a guided walk on some days. Free water and apples all day. We went during christmas and the decorations were very cute too.

This hotel was excellent - with efficient and friendly staff in a great location for hill walking, mountain biking and other sports. I had half pension and the breakfast and evening meal were top notch. The inside of the building was luxurious and the single room or more correctly double room with single occupancy was a good size and with a mini bar.

Fantastic town to walk around with oodles of old buildings tastefully maintained/restored. Plenty of opportunity to shop, although is seems this time of year, late September, things are slowing down and not every place is open. Had a great meal at the Zum Bar Hotel, you'll want to dine here at least once!

Braunlage has a lot to offer, nice walks, and we loved the monster roller activity on the mountain. Puppe's bar is a really nice place to drink. And you have a great choice of nice restaurants. Reservation is required, especially the best rated restaurants on trip advisor are usually completely occupied. You can do some nice shopping too. We visited Quedlinburg, Halberstadt, Goslar, bad Harzburg, Thale and Weringerode, all very beautiful cities/villages. The roads in between these cities are beautiful.

If you want nature for your holiday, then Ilsenburg is the right choice! Mountains, trees, fantastic view from top! For hiking it’s one of the best route! Unfortunately, there’s also part of nature that, most of the trees are affected by the fest or plague so you will see that a lot of trees are dying or dead and some mountain are bald! Anyhow, we did hiking down and up till Brocken! And up there , 1142 m high is breathtaking👍😊

Town is full of history with medieval houses and a hilltop castle that is very popular for German tourists. English is not common, especially in restaurant or their menus, so sometimes difficult for non-German speakers. Great place to visit Harz Mountains hiking areas and the Titan-RT suspension bridge and Dam and the Wendefurth reservoir for boating. Harz Railway Steam train to the Broken Mountain.
