We recently stayed at the Five Alls for four nights and we can really say it’s been a great stay! The room was amazing and we felt quite at home. The pub is also great. We are definitely coming back, probably in summer to also enjoy the outdoor space they have.

Amazing location! The manor is beautiful and has a very nice garden where residents can relax. The room where we stayed is spacious, bright and clean and has a view on St Edward's churchyard, and one of the breakfast rooms has a view on the famous church door. Staff is very kind and helpful. Really recommended!

The hotel is in a small village in the Cotswolds surrounded by fields of green. The room and bed were comfortable. The breakfast is really good and we ate in the restaurant at night which was also great. Lovely fireplace and soft music, very cosy. The staff are friendly and the whole place clean and with lovely furnishings. I highly recommend a stay in this charming hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Cotswolds

The Quaint Heart of England

One of England’s most quaint areas, the Cotswolds are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rolling hills interspersed by picturesque villages with limestone buildings.

From Cirencester to Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold to Stroud, the laidback lifestyle makes this area a great choice for an escape to the country. Booking.com has some fabulous accommodation and, of our range of Cotswolds hotels, luxury and budget alternatives are covered in equal measure.

The largest place is Cheltenham, a wonderful Regency spa town. Neighbouring Gloucester has some well-preserved medieval buildings and an impressive cathedral. Some of the most photographed medieval Cotswolds sights are the Arlington Row almshouses in Bibury. To the east beautiful Burford has a high street going up a hill, Burford Priory country house and the large Cotswolds Wildlife Park just south.

More feathered friends are found in Birdland Park at Bourton-on-the-Water, a lovely village with low bridges spanning its river. Forming a triangle with it are Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton, whose former mill and almshouses are worth a look. Broadway to the north-west has a main street in the shade of hills, one of which has a tower from where it’s said you can see 13 English counties!

Wherever you decide to stay, check Booking.com for great Cotswold hotel deals.

Our room was beautiful, the furniture was lovely, and the wallpaper depicting aristocratic hunting was very nice. The garden is also attractive. The breakfast overlooking the beautiful garden was excellent and well prepared with the best ingredients, and we enjoyed both the full breakfast and the Egg benedict the next day. Dinner was also very very nice. Particularly worth mentioning is that the staffs were very kind, helpful and attentive, but not intrusive. My elderly mother had a great time, thanks to the care and attention of the staffs. We enjoyed the British countryside. I would definitely like to visit again.

We particularly enjoyed the Corn Exchange Antiques market & the Friday outdoor market Breakfast at the Kings Head in the centre of town was absolutely delicious, The Thames Head near Tarlton serves high quality delicious food, we ate there both nights of our stay - Bob’s bubble & squeak is fantastic! Broadway is a lovely location for a short getaway as well as a base for a longer trip around the area. Plenty of lovely shops to browse in. It does get quite crowded on the weekends and if you are dining, reservations are a must. All the major restaurants offer easy online booking for table. A pretty village that still maintains a real life pace of life.

I’ve roved around the Cotswolds since my University days there many years ago. So many villages, towns to enjoy , they all share a unique charm and rural beauty .. the yellow cream hues glisten in sunlight.. equally never dull in cloudy days. A strong sense of history is ever present.. held together by Church , Town Hall , Cottage Mansion .. architecture.. no litter, no graffiti.. Chipping Campden mostly encapsulates all of these qualities.

Stroud is a lovely town in the Cotswolds with lots of character. There is plenty of parking in various locations. Some is even free after 2pm, eg. near Waitrose. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the town and in the locality. For real ales try The Stroud Brewery. There are frequent concerts at the Subscription Rooms which are right in the centre of town with some great bands, etc.
