The facilities, the room itself, the location, but most importantly all the staff and the hospitality! From the moment we came, we are greeted and welcomed by people that would do everything to make our stay as great as possible. To top it all off, on the last day that we left the hotel to catch a flight early in the morning, we accidentally left our passports inside the safety box in our room. From the airport security (about an hour before the flight) I called the hotel and told the reception about this emergency situation, and after about 15 minutes my passport is delivered to the airport, without me having to pay anything for this! If this does not define the highest level of their hospitality, then I guess nothing else would :)

A Greek Island Dream

Imagine a typical Greek island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and sloping cliffs, and the chances are that you’re thinking of Santorini. Protectively curving around 4 other islands in its archipelago, this volcanic island has fertile ground bringing forth lovely rosé wine and some of the sweetest cherry tomatoes you’ll ever taste.

High on a caldera shelving into the sea, the capital Fira overlooks the cruise liners plying the turquoise Aegean waters below. North is Imerovigli, home to several 5-star Santorini hotels with fantastic views.

Also providing amazing views is the accommodation in Oia across the bay. Cascading down the slopes, the sea of white here is only dispersed by vibrant pink flowers, blue domes and the brown of ancient windmills, all becoming black silhouettes as the sun sets.

Santorini Airport is on the other side of the island and 2 resorts south of it – Kamari and Perissa – have the best, black sand beaches. However, the most visually impressive is Red Beach at Akrotiri where the stunning red colour of the caldera and sand makes the trek down the rockface well worth it. Just time it right to avoid high tide! Also near Akrotiri are excavations of a Minoan era settlement.

    The location of the hotel with a view of the Caldera is extremely excellent. Picturesque and amazing views from the rooms! Responsive, polite, attentive excellent staff, both at the reception, and in the restaurant and throughout the hotel. They meet with a smile and offer cool drinks to quench their thirst. They help in solving any issues. The rooms are spacious, bright and clean. The bathrooms are clean and have very nice and high-quality hygiene and body care products! Breakfasts are very tasty and filling! Thank the chef! Also, all hotel guests receive a compliment from the hotel (delicious drinks). There is an opportunity to order a dinner, and even a romantic one, in the room or on the terrace of the new restaurant with beautiful views of the sea, the island itself and the volcano, watching the incredible colors of the sunset!     Location was great, away from the crowds and only a 10 minute walk to Fira. Other hotels we saw you are walking past their outside area and pool so not very private, Honeymoon Petra is more private and you have uninterrupted views! No need to go to Oia for sunset and compete with the crowds. Truely a beautiful spot. All the staff are attentive and friendly. The pool was so deep and fun to dive into off of a platform they have. Tip the men who carry your bags well as they work so hard carrying the bags to the hotel rooms as you have to walk there. The cave room was incredible and the view from the shower out of this world! Comfortable beds and a bottle of wine on arrival. Brilliant buffet style breakfast, everything you could think of.

    Our stay was perfect. The location is amazing, some days we have chosen to not go out by the sea and just spend some time relaxing by the elegant and quiet pool. The staff has been extremely nice to us, from Dimitris, Mr Nikolas, Cristina, everyone has always been kind and ready to answer all of our questions and requests. There is also a market within 20meters, where you can buy everything you might need. The room were very very clean, our towels were changed every day. The position is definitely the best to visit the island, because you can reach every spot in a few minutes (the furthest place is 25 minutes distant). We had the best time, will definitely suggest Louis Studios Apartments to our friends and family.

    From the moment we arrived we were made feel so welcomed. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The weather wasn't great so the staff helped us fill our days with with recommendations and they didn't dissappoint. We got to do so many things and see so much of the Island. The hotel was beautiful with beautiful views. A short walk to the center . Our room was facing the volcanos and was very peaceful.

    Fira is a great town full of varied shops and fantastic places to eat. It can be expensive so plan a little extra money for food though! There are plenty of things to do an see in the town and the public transport to other areas of the island are quite frequent and cheap. There are lots of steep inclines and stairs so keep that in mind, you'll be doing a lot of walking up hills

    Oia is stunning, especially at sunset, but in September it felt overrun with cruise ship crowds and influencers. We loved our simple apartment with its incredible views, starry nights, and the local cats and donkeys. Food and wine are excellent but expensive, and swimming isn’t easy without hiring a car or scooter. Beautiful to see once, but not ideal if you’re on a budget or want a relaxed swim-and-rest holiday.

    We loved our accommodation at thousand stars and highly recommend it. Took a private highlight tour of the island which was amazing. Negatives on Kamari include swimming at the beach which was very hazardous when entering and leaving the water due to the lava levels underfoot. Also, being constantly hassled by the same people to take a massage.

    Glad I booked Imerovigli over Oia or Fira. It was quieter, more affordable, has amazing views and walking distance to great restaurants. We ate at the White Lounge and La Moustache which were both fantastic. Also easily accessible from the road without too many steps. Highly recommend!

    Visiting Perissa in September was perfect – warm weather and plenty of sunbeds, or you can simply relax on the soft sand mixed with small pebbles. A short walk down the beach takes you to Perivolos, which is even better for swimming. Along the beach, you’ll find plenty of excellent restaurants and bars – Tranquilo and Ntomatini are must-visits! In the evenings, it’s lovely to stroll past the many little souvenir shops and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

    A village with bakery, gyros place, souvenir shop & good sized mini market. Walkable to Fura though a noisy main road. Buses good too but more value for money the further you are going. Taxis quite expensive so we walked a lot.

    Lovely village but getting very busy. Restaurants were excellent and staff in them very polite and attentive. Greece is not cheap these days so you have to pay the same as in UK for meals etc. Wine is very expensive but nice to see that they only sell Greek wine in supermarkets and restaurants.

    If you visit Santorini, don’t miss this village: authentic, charming, and far less crowded than other areas. It’s home to some of the island’s best restaurants and still keeps the true Greek atmosphere. For me, it’s the most special place in Santorini

    Best location in Santorini you can get just in the the heart right in between Thira and Imerovigli - 10-15mins walk in both directions. Beautiful and relaxing town with everything you could ask for and still without the noise from clubs until late night like in Thira! Firostefani simply is a must to pick!

    the location is not what it seams, it is just between the main road and other construction sites or empty fields, with no nice view. Overrated prices on booking.com compared with the reception prices or any other nice hotels even in Oia.
