I stayed at the single room for 3 nights. It was very spacious and clean. A/C was working properly. There was a mini fridge and a kettle in the room. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were very helpful and kind. I am very glad that I chose Mandello to stay in. It was not as touristy as Bellagio or Varenna. So it was ideal to have a calm, peaceful holiday near the lake.

Nice clean location overlooking the lake. The staff was fabulous and very helpful. I would come and stay here again. Short drive to Lecco where we had several meals. Lots of selections for breakfast in the hotel. Free parking.

The accommodation is a very beautiful house renovated with great care, featuring several apartments located slightly above the tourist center. The location is about 20 minutes on foot from the lake promenade, but situated very quietly. You cannot drive directly to the accommodation, which makes it all the more peaceful as there is no traffic noise. Several public parking spaces are at most 5 minutes away on foot. The accommodation has a beautiful courtyard where you can sit with friends in the evening and enjoy one of the good wines offered by the bistro. In the bistro itself, you can also enjoy small snacks and very good espresso during the day. The breakfast is put together with great care and many organic products and homemade cakes are offered. The Passer team around the owner Alessandro is extremely helpful and has many tips for excursions and restaurants. We had a very nice stay and will definitely come back!

Nice staff at the reception and on the territory. Everything is comfortable in the rooms - pillows/mattress/shower/balcony/view. There is an elevator. Free transfer to the center of Como and paid transfer to/from the airport. Excellent area with sun loungers by the pool. There are additional beach towels in the room. The staff carried the luggage to the room - now very few hotels offer such a service.

A Haven of Alpine Tranquillity

Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Alps, Lake Como is a long, thin lake in the shape of an inverse ‘Y’. At its south-west corner is the beautiful town that it’s named after – Como. A short train ride from Milan, this is the starting point for several Lake Como cruises. If you take the funicular railway up to Brunate you get magnificent views of the lake and mountains, towards Switzerland just to the west.

The laidback and sophisticated way of life makes Como Lake popular with celebrities and several have homes in exclusive Bellagio, which is almost entirely surrounded by water. The views here are breathtaking, so it’s easy to see why of all the Lake Como hotels, Bellagio has the greatest concentration.

Just across the water are Lenno, Tremezzo and Menaggio, home to many exclusive lakefront hotels, many with swimming pools. You can actually swim in some parts of the lake, and the best beaches are found in the area near Gravedona in the north. Fanning out around a small harbour, this town offers some of the best Lake Como watersports.

So glad we picked Lezzeno as the base of our first Lake Como trip. Charming small town that's only a few ferry stops away from the main sightseeing spots such as Bellagio (very touristy and overrated btw). The pier is a short 15-min walk from the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Filario. Wonderful staff at Filo and the beach bar, and a special shoutout to Umberto, Petro, Alessia, Emma and Silvia from the wonderful Concierge team who were absolutely amazing. They patiently provided all the info we need ahead and throughout our stay around the clock via WhatsApp! While not sumptuous, the breakfast spread is plentiful. The pastry corner was my fave. Loved chilling by the private beach. And the short Strada Regia hike was very enjoyable.

Everything about my stay at Relais Villa Vittoria was excellent, but the great service started about a week before my arrival when my travel plans had to change at the last minute due to bad weather in the UK. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodated the last minute change of dates with out any fuss. The hotel, room and restaurant were all lovely, choice at breakfast was great, food in the evenings was very good, but as ever its the staff that make the experience. I was staying here on a business trip, but will definitely be returning for a holiday with my wife in the future.

The location ! Bellagio is stunning and this hotel is between 2 and 10 minutes walk from everything . Also we were surprised as we booked a “room with partial view of the lake” so we were expecting to have just a glimpse of it at the side of the window, but it was actually facing right at the lake ! The breakfast was tasty and the staff kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again

The restaurant is quite interesting, I had 2 dinners there and I tried the top choice from te menu also asking to a very pro and nice team, maitre and waiter. I think their names are Gaspare and Emanuele. I did not meet the chef but...superlative food

Como a good holiday destination for a 4 day stay. Plenty of nice little villages to explore around the lake, ferries easy to use. Como town also attractive, historical Cathedral etc., interesting back streets.

A cute place, for me it was all about via ferrata, which you can find plenty around and everything is reachable by bus and feet. Not much to do in the city, but also not as busy as the neighboring Como, but with pretty much the same (if not better) scenic views and easy access to mountains for hiking and climbing.

It’s a lovely little village, perfect for a few nights stay. We travelled to Valencia, but it paled in comparison! Bellagio is definitely the place to be. Lots of places to eat and cute shops. We stayed in Florence hotel and it was perfect!

Pretty little lake side town across lake from Lecco. Easy walk of 25 mins to Lecco centre with plenty of local restaurants and supermarkets/marts within walking distance. Free parking around area as well if happy to walk a bit to where you are staying if in apartment vs hotel

It's a cute town with some lovely restaurants and easy enough to walk around for someone of average fitness. However if your purpose is to explore most of Lake Como, you will be limited to the slow ferry up to Bellagio / Varenna / Menaggio which takes 2-3hours. We had originally booked to stay in Varenna but cancelled due to works on the train line to get there. It still would have been a better option, or just staying in Como town to access the fast ferry. Most of the private boat tours also pick up from Como or from the "Golden Triangle" of the lake.

It’s a small town catering mainly to locals with few amenities but well connected transport links. Supermarket was only open half days. Most of the eateries were fast food/cheap. But there is a couple of nicer restaurants. Little else to do here. There is a busy road through the town. Short lakeside path is nice.

Beautiful lake, with amazing views of the mountains, very pleasant walk Ate at Per Bacca, and Risorante El Logasc, very good food and service. I'd highly recommend eating here Very easy to travel to other places, by car, train or bus

Usually the train journey from Milan is direct to Varenna, although some works on the line meant changing to a bus for part of the journey on the way back. Varenna is lovely and the best place to stay in the central area.

We enjoyed exploring the cobblestone streets, visiting the villa, and hiking the valley trail. There are also some very good places to eat in Menaggio. Beyond that, we particularly enjoyed visiting Varenna across the lake.

Bellano is one of the smaller towns of Lake Como and has a nice marina and promenade alongside the wharf. It can't be compared with the bigger towns of Bellagio or Menaggio which are more beautiful and scenic. But Bellano is quite nice too with a neat town centre with both indoor and outdoor eating places. It is also less crowded as compared to some of the bigger towns which gives it a laid back ambience. Logistics are however not so great. Ferry frequency for going to other towns is low which means sometime you have to catch a ferry at an inconvenient time. Inside Bellano public transport is practically non existent and taxis are not available for love or money which is perhaps true for other towns of Lake Como as well. There don't seem to be many top class hotels in Bellano. We stayed at the Villa Reverie Boutique hotel which was situated right on the lake side and was about 1 km from the town centre. We liked the hotel and would recommend it strongly despite its high price point for a 3 star hotel.
