We enjoyed every moment of our stay, especially waking up in the morning looking at the sea and enjoying the sunshine directly out of our bed. At breakfast you can find a lot of local specialities and also international ones which are all delicious. The rooms are modern and very clean, the mattress was ultra comfortable and seems to be new. - From $266.34 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 1,723 reviewsMy wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Excelsior Palace in Rapallo. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and smiles. The service was excellent, our room was clean, and the view was breathtaking. The hotel is in a fantastic location; within just a few minutes, we found ourselves in the city centre, enjoying a lovely walk. There is plenty of outdoor and underground parking, which was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. Everything else turned out to be a delightful bonus.Guest review byCosminNetherlands

Also no one complained about the noises my son made. The stuff and animators were exceptionally attentive and supportive. Shallow swimming pool worked very well for us. An absolutely fascinating city with a wealth of history and beautiful old buildings which somehow have managed to survive in a tangle of narrow streets and small squares. When you are bored with the city...very hard to be...then take the cheap, efficient train down the coast to Sestre Levante where most stops have a great beach to swim from.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Travelling from Rome, we made La Spezia our base to launch into the Cinque Terre. Fiume269 was just 10-min walk away from the main train station to travel to the 5 towns. Buses from near our stay take you easily to La Spezia's main attractions.Guest review byRobin GomesItaly - 10.0

Beautiful traditional Italian seaside town with plenty of interesting things to visit. La Pigna (the old town) is an interesting climb through small alleyways and gates. The Russian Orthodox church is small but perfectly formed. Villa Nobel is an interesting science museum & a beautiful villa to see from the outside. There is a 30km cycle and walking track running along the seafront, an old converted train track with plenty of cycle hire places along the way. Plenty of nice places nearby if you have a hire car. Steer clear of the Casino - it's tacky and full of slot machines.Guest review byJeremyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
By far the best of all 5 towns.
By far the best of all 5 towns. We stayed in the old part of Monterosso and it felt authentic. Much less crowded than the other towns. And much easier to navigate given that it's not all hills. Just a short stroll to the newer side of Monterosso and w plenty of eating spots to choose from.Guest review byNatalieUnited States - 10.0

Riomaggiore is a vibrant town.
Riomaggiore is a vibrant town. Loved being outside at night with the restaurant sounds and bars playing music. It felt safe to walk around on my own. Enjoyed the harbor view and proximity to boat rental and tours. Beach was nice and small and not too crowded. Ferry is right there, too. Highly recommend staying in Riomaggiore.Guest review bySusan CleereUnited States - 8.0

The city center is nice, there are good restaurants but every of them takes fee for sitting at the table - from 2 to 4 euros even to drink one cocktail. Beaches are not very good in Rapallo, you need to go somewhere further for good sea. We went on the beaches after San-Margarita, it is better drive there or go by bus.Guest review byElena - 10.0
Lovely sea side town. Very good ferry link for Portofino.
Lovely sea side town. Very good ferry link for Portofino. Nice shops and good restaurants and are more reasonably priced than Portofino yet only takes 15 mins to travel there by boat. We went end of season in late September and there were a lot of locals swimming and enjoying the sea. I didn't get chance to walk between the 2 resorts but it looked flat and easy. Highly recommend a visit on the ferry to Santa Fruttuoso - stunning. can get busy when a big cruise ship arrives in town. The harbour is interesting and lots to see and people watch. some of the yachts are impressive!Guest review byRachaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0
