This was one of our highlights on our trip around Italy. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and kind catering to all our needs and questions we had. The bugger breakfast was 10/10, beautiful fresh breads and kitchen staff cooking you omelettes and a barista making you fresh coffee that is brought to your table by waiters. This was no extra charge, all part of the service. We did a “fancy” dinner at the properties restaurant. The food was delicious and the wine was perfect to wash it down with. It was so nice to have a break from the cities , that are heavily populated with tourist to be in open farm land and enjoy the Tuscan surroundings.

This place is far beyond all the expectation. It offers rather an experience than a regular stay. From the first till the last moments the guest is a top priority. All the stuff members who we've met were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, especially educated in the topic of wine. We can't wait to book the stay next year. Thank you for the hospitality and wonderful memories!

Chianti highlights

Chianti wine

There’s no better place to taste this sublime red wine, straight from the vineyard. Try a range of flavours from different areas in the region.

The Chianti Castle routes

Six different routes traverse the commune of Gaiole in Chianti, winding through idyllic countryside en route to medieval castles and fortified farmhouses.

Barberino Val d'Elsa

Step through this charming village’s ancient gate and uncover vistas of the verdant Chianti countryside threaded between medieval buildings.

Pay a visit to the fascinating Monteriggioni

Dante Alighieri immortalised this Tuscan commune’s impressive walls in his ‘Divine Comedy.’ The fortifications stand watch over idyllic swaths of verdant countryside.

Chianti cuisine

Rustic trattorias are peppered throughout Chianti, serving local favourites like hearty Ribollita and Finocchiona in an easygoing familial atmosphere.

Badia di Passignano

Flourishing vineyards and green hills, blanket the countryside just outside of the historic walls that preserve this ancient monastery.

Greve in Chianti

Known as the ‘Gateway to Chianti', this bucolic town is home to a triangular piazza that hosts a market each Saturday.

After reading some questionable reviews, we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this accomodation was. Our room itself was large, clean, air conditioned and what appeared like a newly renovated bathroom. The room was cleaned daily. While some fixtures are clearly older than others, it was part of the charm. They had great options for experiences hosted on site which allowed us to experience all we had hoped for by staying in the gorgeous Tuscan countryside. We personally loved the BBQ hosted on the Friday night which was a surprising touch. The food was amazing, accompanied by a beautiful bottle of their wine and live music. The wine tasting and cooking class were also great. Pool area was clean and great spot for relaxing. We are from Australia and would go out of our way to come back to this beautiful accomodation.

The attention to details with immaculate design of the place is simply stunning and a real gem - even in such a beautiful Chianti region! It was our 3rd time in Borgo Scopeto and 1st with our little dog Loki. The treat he got was a real 5 star approach. Loki got his own bed, welcome snacks, cleaning set and his own dog’s menu - which was of a super high quality (we took 2 sets with us when we left for home). The hotel's interior as well as architecture is exceptional, offering a true sense of luxury amidst the lush greenery of the surrounding hills.

Loved the terrace overlooking the hills and vineyards for the morning breakfast. There were numerous stations with may choices including fresh fruits, breads ,rolls, meats, cheeses, eggs and fresh juices as well as cappuccinos and expressos. The staff were professional but friendly. The infinity pool overlooking the hills and vineyards was stunning. We loved the wellness facility with the beautiful steam rooms, ice showers and jacuzzi. Every effort was made to assure your stay was one you will never forget. We loved it!

I celebrated my 30th birthday. I couldn't ask for more than that. The place was perfect! Amazing view! Stunning and caring staff who brought us a bottle of champagne as a gift. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant - it was the best meal we ate on the trip (better than the Michelin restaurant we ate at). A delicious breakfast that includes croissants, eggs, fresh fruit and more. Adjacent and convenient parking. The best place I've been in the whole world, highly recommended!!!

This is a wonderful place with well-designed, comfortable apartments, stunning views, a large pool with a breathtaking panorama, and an excellent restaurant. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive – the receptionist went out of her way to help me find a doctor on a holiday, which was quite challenging, and I would never have managed it on my own without knowing Italian. I’m deeply grateful to these wonderful people and this amazing place for making our stay so enjoyable.

The apartement was even nicer than pictures. There was oil and a bit of vinegar as well as salt and pepper. It would have been nice to have a few more amenities. San Casciano is remote in the beautiful Tuscan Hills, although just 40 minutes slow drive to Florence The hotel is 7 minutes outside the town, so walking is difficult. Need a car to go anywhere. Taxis are not available. This hotel is pretty good, but the much-acclaimed restaurant is, at best, just above average and pricey. Claims to be "special" but isn't! Terrace dining is romantic but watch the wasps in the daytime and mosquitos in the evening. Swmming pool fairly small and crowded. Grounds are pristine and lots of lovely bougainvillea. Reception staff smile a lot. Huge carpark!

Fantastic little town with tonnes of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The museum ticket is great value as it gets you into lots of the historic sights. We enjoyed the weaponry exhibit as you were allowed to hold and try on the different artefacts which was cool! We parked nearby and paid with card on exit (only line up at the ticket machine if you’re paying cash). The onsite wine shop (connected to the popular winery near by) was delicious too. Would definitely recommend this town for people to visit and dine at!

I have been to Tuscany more times than I can count. This is my first time stopping in and staying in Colle di Val d'Elsa. The location is very close to all the major sites in Tuscany. Volterra and San Gimignano are extremely closeby as well as Chianti. There is a charm to the old town area of Colle di Val d'Elsa, not a ton of tourists like the other sites in the area.
