The hotel was beautiful and the staff so efficient. The room was an excellent size, tastefully furnished and the bed was the most comfortable of the whole trip. Being on top of a shopping mall was a bonus! Also I love the train station proximity. We caught the trams to the castle and city centre, which was easy.

Utmost welcoming hosts. It felt more like a homestay that a hostel. Also in terms of cleanliness it was exceptional. I have been to many different types of accommodation during the past two years in Japan where the standard of cleanliness is already very high but this place can keep it up with any five star hotel! I am looking forward to returning in the future! It was perfect!

The room is very clean and the bed is so comfortable Especially the breakfast is great. The staff are nice, and you cant believe that the modern facilities can apply to the traditional architecture. This hotel is using the existing old traditional materials in the room which is so impressive. I really enjoy the time staying here, really recommend it.

The location is convenient to go any place. The owners are kind and friendly, offering to lend a bike for me which helped a lot! make my time here much easier. Shared toilet and bathroom, but by the time here I pretty much didn't share with anyone lol. The room has traditional japanese style, and it's tidy, so much bigger than normal hotel, like here a lot!

The stay in this hotel was extremely pleasant. There are lot of amenities offered for free, the rooms look very nice, everything is clean and the price is unbeatable. The hotel is also equipped with coin washing machines, which is indispensable during longer trips. Our group was very satisfied and we would recommend staying in this hotel to any travelers.

I came for the One Piece statues but I honestly loved the...

I came for the One Piece statues but I honestly loved the entire vibe of Kumamoto. The transit system was easier to navigate than I expected, and locals were very nice in offering to take pictures of us at the statues! I was also really impressed with the Kumamoto revival project details and how they specifically placed the crew members in places that needed aid but were relevant to the character. As we traveled to each statue, I was amazed at how gorgeous Kumamoto was, like a scene out of a Studio Ghibli movie. It was magical and I wished I had planned to stay longer since I couldn't see all the statues.

Aso has many good hiking trails and tourist centers about the local geography. We also found good mom & pop restaurants and even some pottery stores. Central to Kumamto, Miyazaki, and Beppu/Oita, it's a great place to stay while exploring more in the region.

I traveled around Kurogawa Onsen area. That's very nice place. I feel like to stay longer to go more some other sightseeing places. There area many interesting spots around this area. If you like the nature, I recommend to come here.

Full day hiking on Aso accessing the south route. View and landscape are stunning. Everything could be perfect if not the extremely noisy helicopter flight over every 10 mins, which kind of ruins the whole experience...

Amakusa is an amazing place with amazingly friendly locals.

Amakusa is an amazing place with amazingly friendly locals. Never crowded with tourists, peaceful, and relaxing. Lots to do and see as this island has beautiful mountains and beaches. The dolphin watch is an experience like no other dolphin encounter. The drive through the mountain roads offers spectacular views of peeks covered in lush forests. Amakusa is a must for anyone visiting Japan!

Yuhoen Fruit Farm to enjoy fruit picking and unlimited serving of fruits picked within an hour. There were Hosui pears, Kyoho and Fuji Minori grapes. Great experience! Kumamoto castle is a must visit as well as to savour horse sashimi.

Loved Mt Aso and area.

Loved Mt Aso and area. It is gorgeous and the visit to the crater was scary but exciting. We enjoyed driving around the beautiful mountains and loved the scenery. The highlight of our trip to Kyushu so far

Perfect place for a base especially if you’re planning on driving around the area (Takachiho, Mt Aso, Yufuin, Beppu and the scenic viewing points) as it is much nearer than Fukuoka or Kumamoto to all of them. The drives are also very beautiful.

The owners were exceptionally lovely, I arrived when it was a bit dark, but she quickly responded to my message about my arrival and helped me get to the property. Also their generosity and kindness were amazing despite me being a little lost in my Japanese understanding. Stay was comfortable with a great view of the mountains greeting you as you woke up. I would definitely recommend staying here, probably arriving a little before the sun sets as the small streets can be a little confusing if you take the wrong route.

Kumamoto city - not much to see.

Kumamoto city - not much to see. Aso area - nicer - with views, countryside and waterfalls. Accessible only by car so suggest self drive. Treat places like US where you need to drive everywhere to get stuffs. I don't put photos because need to convert to jpg.
