We were late for the breakfast on the day we went on the safari they waited us to come and finish breakfast. I really think the hotel owner should give them an increment. Food was delicious. We had some clothing to get washed. I gave them around 8.00 in the morning. I received all back washed, dried, ironed and folded by 12.30. very kind people including the reception. The hotel arranged us the safari for a reasonable price. The driver was the most kind safari driver I have ever met. We have been to other places too. It was my boyfriends birthday and I only asked for a fruit basket to surprise him, but the staff had decorated our room with balloons and they sang happy birthday to him. We were both very pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us with arranging a safari. Which we can also recommend because we saw lots of elephants from very close. Half a day was enough as the sun was out and draining. At the last stop in Polonnaruwa where you have the temple there was a young man sketching and painting. There was also an older gentleman selling Neem & Jamun tree wood containers and tumblers for keeping water in the night and drinking in the morning Neem for better all over health & Jamun for decreasing blood sugar.Guest review byPRATIBHAIndia - 10.0

Amazing, smaller national park. More of a wild, intimate experience than it's massively over subscribed cousins. It has so many ruins and monuments to view, and especially marvel at the stone crafting abilities of ancient Sri Lankans who have created so many buddhist states and artistic monuments by using rocks.
