Kanu and glass bottom boot trip to the reef 🪸 is offered for free. Here you can snorkel and see the underwater world. They are really Kids friendly and offer proper meals on the menu for kids.

United StatesThis was my second stay at Ocean V. As always, the service was impeccable and one of a 6 stars hotel. The staff is very attentive to your needs and they pamper you from day 1 to your very last day. They are very helpful for anything you need. The breakfast offers great options if you are a vegetarian. The food is delicious. The Chef also tailors to your dietary habits. That's how attentive the whole staff is. He even accepted special orders I made (a 20 slices birthday cake for my friend). They offer tea time for free envy day. The hotel is very modern. The rooms are very spacious and super neat. You sleep so well even though it is close to the street when cars pass by, you don't hear a sound and will sleep like a baby. The rooftop pool has a spectacular view on the Indian Ocean. It is never crowded so at times, you will have the pool just for yourself. It is very conveniently located to great diving centres and the best one being (mybasediving) and conveniently located 5 min walk to the beach. It is also close to the many shops in Grand baie and all the nice restaurant and going-out area.

Small and cosy hotel exactly what we needed before leaving paradise island. The staffs are absolutely fantastic... always ready to assist and advise.
It has a Greece kind of look / vibe. Very much like staying in a cave which was a new experience for us.
Entertainment during the day, evening and morning too...it's a pity we were there for a night only.
Beds are very comfortable. After we checked out we were still able to use the pool which was a plus.
We should have probably booked all inclusive as the food looked delicious.

We liked the always well-kept surroundings of the hotel, the garden, private beach and pool, full-body massage, very tasty breakfasts and dinners, music program, peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. The room was cozy, clean, with a nice view of the garden and the ocean. We were there from 3.9. until 11.9. and the weather was excellent, lots of sunshine and only a few short showers. The temperature during the day was approximately 27-30 degrees Celsius. At night it was around 22-25 degrees Celsius.

This was a perfect resort for 6 days. Our plan included all meals which were all good, as well as wine,beer, non alcoholic drinks. Plenty of choice. Room was spacious, clean, great bathroom. Setting is lovely overlooking beach and a pool right outside. Free aquarobics very enthusiastically run by staff, very popular activity. We happen3d to be staying a hurricane which meant staffing levels were reduced, and room wasn't serviced for a day. But made no difference to our stay.

Everything was excelent, from the welcoming side, to the clean rooms, delicious food, nice swimming pool, garden with palms and small birds that making special nests and sing every morning, a unique feeling. Location is great, near the beach. But, above all mentioned, very nice people, the staff, and very good host, our mr. Amal. We will never forget you. Thank you for everything that you did to make our vacation so special. Recommendation for this cozy place.

It looks even better in person the pictures don’t do it justice, the location is perfect, close proximity to beaches, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, gas stations and more… yet so quite and homely once you’re inside the villa…the staff were great with us and made sure we had an amazing stay, would recommend this villa to anyone looking for accommodation in Mauritius and I’ll definitely be coming back, thank you Marcus & staff for your amazing service✨

It is an amazing place very close to the beach with a very lovely atmosphere. The internal territory is very nice, rooms are big and bed is super comfortable. Staff is vers nice and helpful. We really enjoyed the pool bar and all restaurants around. All rooms look into internal garden with the pool. Highly recommended!

It's very authentic and easy to navigate... it's a bit tricky walking around as there really are not too many pedestrian lanes. Endless cute shops, restaurants, the people were so friendly.. Good value for money too!

We had a wonderful stay! The apartment was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The owner and host were very friendly, punctual, and quick to respond to any requests, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The view over the swimming pool was beautiful, and just 40 steps from the beach. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-managed stay.

Short tips: Take your meds for allergies.
Short tips: Take your meds for allergies. I had a allergy day 1 and it really spoils the fun. The nurse Sarista is really amazing there but you don't want to struggle. TAKE MEDS to prevent.
Pack your running shoes. The gym is GREAT or go for a jog, because you eat a lot.
Bring a digestive and or something for indigestion and heartburn. You eat a LOT!
Don't forget your SPF.
Dress up clothes for the evenings. You would want to look smart at dinner. There is something about the events and atmosphere at night.

Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which...
Balaclava is not the most lively part of Mauritius which suited us perfectly. It consists mostly of vegetable fields, forests and small hamlets. The coast is getting developed with hotels but each is keeping its space so it doesn't feel crowded. You need to rent a car or get a taxi to visit the nearest town, Pamplemousses. There you have the old sugar factory, botanical gardens and a very pleasant shopping mall with a food supermarket.

The beach of Mon Choisy is a long sunny sandy beach nice for swimming. During October to March it is hot there but the sea is great for swimming. However during these months some cyclones may also visit the Island ! Other months are also sunny and the climate are cooler around 24c during the day. In weekdays the beach is calm and it is not crowded. However during Sundays and public holidays locals are there and it is very crowded but as it is a long beach there is still some space for everyone. On Sundays expect loud music from loudspeakers by some picknickers though there is law about it but it is rarely respected. There are also many stray dogs on the beach but they are not aggresive.

It was a disappointment from day one.
It was a disappointment from day one.
After we realized that the proposed and booked room didn’t match reality, (had no kitchenette, no private entrance and no fireplace) .
Hotel staff was ok, but not great.
Recorded two incidents where dead insects where at the dining area and beside food at the open kitchen in the restaurant.
General manager never spoke with us, staff apologized and gave us an upgrade to all inclusive from our half board booking (breakfast and Dinner).
Overall an ok experience but clearly no 5 stars. More like 3 stars. We also stayed at Le meridien in Dubai, which is a different league and much much better and customers friendly than Mauritius.
We were happy when we left the place in Mauritius and won’t recommend Le Meriden there to anyone.

An ideal spot away from the bustle of Grand Baie. Perfect for couples.
There is a large public beach a few minutes walk away which has all the local facilities. Beach shacks selling local food and fresh fruit juices.
The local people were all very friendly and the taxi rank nearby was ideal for planning trips.

Roches Noires is a nice place.
Roches Noires is a nice place. Keep in mind that in our summer (july / august) it is winter over there and the east coast will have a constant breeze (up to 4 BFT).
Having a rental car we found that almost all of the days we would drive to the west or south coast as there is no wind on that side during their winter.
