This was a really nice hotel. Our room was large and comfortable. We used the indoor pool and hot tub which were nice though closes at 8pm. The restaurant was a bit overpriced and did not have many non-seafood options but the food was good and the atmosphere was elegant.

Situated on Madalena, Pico Island, Caravelas is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on 3 sides and overlooks Faial Island. It features an outdoor pool, a 24-hour reception, and car rental.

I don't understand why so many people are complaining about this hotel. It is as close to the ferry terminal as you can get. , The rooms are clean and tidy. The pool has a nice view on Faial, and is beeing cleaned every morning (and they are probably the only ones having a pool in Pico anyway...) You can walk in less than 5 minutes to all the different tour operators (Diving, Hiking, Whalewatching, Rentalcars....) and restaurants. It is maybe a bit dated, but I felt like they were doing their best at being welcomig. They even organise a mini breakfast buffet from 04 a.m - 7 a.m for people leaving early on hikes or diving tours...! Keep in mind that every Airbnb in the area is more expensive , without offering you room service, breakfast or a pool area. If you come to Pico for its great nature activities, and want an easy hotel, thats your place to go!!

Where to start? I was coming from a quite antisocial hostel in São Miguel, so at first I was overwhelmed by how welcoming this place is. You will not leave Loving Strangers without learning a few lessons, making connections and of course, hugs! This is how travel should be, book more than 1-2 nights to really get the best out of it. It’s also super clean, with comfy beds, cool garden, and cute cats.

Located in Prainha de Baixo, Barrocas do Mar offers accommodation with a hot tub and a solarium. With garden views, this accommodation features a patio.
