A great city break with plenty of dining options and affordable prices. Highly recommend a day trip to Sintra—it's beautiful! We joined a group tour and loved it so much that we went back the next day on our own. The return train trip costs just €5.50. Lisbon offers a perfect blend of historic charm and excellent shopping for everyone. Take a boat ride to Belém, wander around, taste the local flavors, and explore. It is a lovely area to visit and there is a good choice of places to eat. Using the train to get there from the airport is easy and cheap. Beach and rugged cliff coastline was a good combo . Excellent choices of restaurants from higher end ( Bougain) and simpler but good . The Paula Rego centre was a major draw for me and I wasn’t disappointed . Pretty parks to stroll in the shade too. The harbour and beaches are buzzing. If I’d have had longer I’d have hired a bike and cycled along to Estoril and the other direction to the lighthouse and beaches . The train service along the coast is reasonably priced and reliable. Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg).
