We had a truly memorable stay at this hotel in Chiang Rai. The staff — always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. The food was another highlight — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every meal was a delight, whether we were enjoying traditional Thai dishes or international options. The hotel’s cleanliness was impeccable. Our room was spotless and well-maintained, and the common areas were always tidy and inviting. It’s clear that cleanliness and comfort are top priorities here. We also loved the pool area — a peaceful oasis perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. It was well-kept and a serene atmosphere that made it hard to leave. All in all, this hotel offers a wonderful mix of comfort, quality, and Thai hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Chiang Rai!

Chiang Khong,lovely and great place.

Chiang Khong,lovely and great place. Very authentic border city. Can enjoy beatiful nature also(mountains and forests.) and can visit mountain villages,have beatiful handcrafts to purchase. Made by village people ,(not mass production or cheap copies) Can not find anywhere else.

I ❤️ Mae Salong.

I ❤️ Mae Salong. The clean crisp air and many local ethnic groups make this a great place to visit Love staying at Shin Sane GH or Little House GH. Each still offer great prices for cottages and Shin Sane still has the original rooms from wooden house and at a shoestring price for this region Love eating at Yunnan noodles down the road a bit past 7 Eleven and Salima’s. There’s a pure veg place heading towards the cathothic school nearby.

The hotel is value for money. Clean and tidy rooms. I was in a double bed room with a co-joined 2 single beds room. Perfect for family. Staff were very helpful with an on arrival last minute room request.

Not a great selection of restaurants and not a beautiful city. The white and Blue temples are worth a visit, but the tour of the Golden Triangle is over hyped. It’s a full day tour filled with trivial things just to finally arrive at a view point to see Myanmar and Laos across the river. If staying in Chiang Mai, a trip to see the White and Blue temple with a return to Chiang Mai would be of greater value.

A great city to do a border run, particularly if you stay at Fortune Riverview Hotel Chiang Khong - which seems to be the nicest accommodation in the area. We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit and would return.

Acceptable for one night.

Acceptable for one night. You need a car to get to the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof. Quite loud from the traffic. The hotel is located directly on the main street. The breakfast is not bad and with good coffee to make yourself with a coffee machine.

It's a small town compared to Chiang Mai.

It's a small town compared to Chiang Mai. Very quiet and with little nightlife, which is why I liked it. The night market is really well-stocked, with live performances sometimes, good prices, and you'll find some nice things to take home. It's well-connected to all the attractions. Obviously, tuk-tuks are more expensive than buses, but the drivers are sometimes friendly.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.

The shower head was to 50% clogged, and the water was...

The shower head was to 50% clogged, and the water was deflected sideways splashing all over. This was the case in both the rooms I had booked! The TV remote control did not work, as the batteries inside were corroded and bloated badly.
