We had lovely, very tasty ostrich steak and roast veggies for dinner and a delicious cooked breakfast. Our overall experience left a very positive feeling about the hotel; old time grandeur!!

Irelandan absolute beauty of a hotel, so unique and the joy of all the different decor in the rooms. The staff also were so professional and warm and friendly, especially Candice at the front desk. The outdoor facilities are gorgeous too and we had a dip in the pool. The only downside was we only had one night there I would suggest if you're going book 2 or more nights!

Our third visit to this wonderful oasis. We come to see Andre the manager whom we fell in love with on our first visit approx 13 years ago. He was on top form making everyone feel welcome and ensuring everyone was having a relaxing time.
The property has a lovely large infinity pool overlooking the ostriches and fields which is so relaxing, there’s also a seating area and a bar which is is great to lounge in after a busy day out exploring.
Breakfast is an excellent varied hot and cold buffet and dinner is a delicious three course event with a Braai of a choice of meat, I really recommend the Karoo lamb or the local ostrich.
Room super comfortable overlooking the garden and fields with big king bed and lovely soft pillows, I love the decadent ostrich skin headboards that only this area of SA would have and consider normal. large bathroom with big bath and separate shower, also separate loo.
Always sad to leave this place.
Parking very safe just outside your room, very convenient. Everything spotlessly clean.

Everything went well from checkin to ambience to room amenities and facilities in the property. The ostrich farm was real hit and so is the room, ambience , friendly dogs, great location and secured and safe environment. Congo cave, ostrich farm and Cango wildlife ranch was the great hit! The B&B was really nice. All the people were absolutly warmhearted and helpful. You can do your laundry which was perfect for us. They gave us perfect advise for activities and restaurants in oudtshoorn. They even reserved the activities for us.😃 And the breakfast was amazing.

Had a fantastic toasted sandwich at the restaurant before the tour and a cold beer after the tour and so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the nature.

Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday and most restaurants close at 17:00 on a Monday. However, our host recommended we have dinner at the Karoo Art Hotel with a choice of fine dining or pub dinner. We choose pub dinner, which was delicious. Beautiful trail walks can be found around the farms. All-in-all a wonderful trip.

The only negative is the number of young coloured men asking to do and be useful when theyo are not required to do anything. One feels badgered.

We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale,...
We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale, because when we arrived at the locked farm gate, we found there was no reception. We couldn't reach him, and it was soon getting dark, so we had to keep driving until we got signal again, which only took five minutes. Wann, the manager, was soon there and opened the gate to paradise for us... remote, behind two other farms, we were able to spend comfortable days in this Karoo resort. Wann was always available, and one evening his wife cooked us a delicious meal. A river, a hot tub, an ice bath, peace and quiet, and an endless sky—what more could you want? This is the place to be for anyone needing a break. For more romance, under the stars, bring candles and reading lamps.

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.

From the main road it looks like just another dusty deserted Karoo town. What a pleasant surprise on turning off into the little town. We had a superb breakfast at @Stuff and met some interesting locals. The town is experiencing a resurgence and is intersting, well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Oudtshoorn is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days. There is so much to see and do. The accommodation in Oudtshoorn, is generally excellent. The restaurants are very good, and the Game viewing is exceptional. The town itself has lots of character and charm.

Lovely quiet country village. Interesting little shops & great 2nd hand bookshop. Great walks/hikes & excellent restaurants (highly recommend "Mud"). Lots of interesting history.
