Located right on the sandy beach of Mylopotas in Ios Island, Gorgona is housed in a Cycladic-style building with stone-paved terraces and white-washed walls. Its tastefully decorated units open out to a balcony or a shared terrace overlooking the Aegean Sea. The location was perfection! Just steps to the beach. There is a nightclub nearby and we were worried about the noise but it wasn’t a problem at all. We couldn’t hear the music with the windows shut and the air conditioning on. The breakfast was excellent and the staff helpful.

The place itself is beautiful, with a peaceful atmosphere and a lovely swimming pool that made it the perfect getaway. What truly made our stay special was Elizabeth at the reception. She was incredibly kind and helpful from the start explaining everything in detail and offering amazing local recommendations that really enhanced our trip. But the real highlight was at the end of our stay. While going over our travel plans with her, we realized together that we had missed our night ferry and had to leave immediately to catch our flight. Elizabeth didn’t hesitate she quickly called a taxi and helped us get on our way without panic. Thanks to her attentiveness and care, we made it just in time. We are beyond grateful and highly recommend this hotel not just for its beauty, but for the truly exceptional service. Thank you, Elizabeth!

The Avra also has a relaxing terrace furnished with comfortable couches. The location was perfect. It is well connected to public transportation and the local beach is only a few minutes away. The simple traditional cycladic decoration and the spacious rooms offer you the best opportunity to relax and feel at home. Each is functional with its own kitchenette. Air conditioning, TV and safe are standard features. It's a quiet place with a great view and very nice/helpful staff.
