Beautiful heritage hotel, great restaurant, very helpful staff, loved the smell of lemongrass in the room, the minibar, and the welcome treats, and great tours from the hotel.

This Homestay is a gem of a place located in a very special area only 20 min walk to beach side, about 30 min walk to the ashram or Tea Time coffee/ tea cafe. The manager and security guard are lovely ppl. As a solo female traveler I felt safe and comfy. I booked the small room which has a door leading to a balcony, where one can see the lighthouse at night and early wee morning, men playing cricket in the area leading to the port. Step onto Dr Ambedkar Rd go right and it’s a short walk to the beach, where locals fill up the streets for snacks and and a stroll. On the way stop by City Punjabi Dhaba for great meals, hygienic kitchen, and a Goti drink. Facing Dr Ambedkar Rd, cross the street left of the aquarium shop use gps to take you to center of White town not far from Mission St (Mission Kafe worth a visit) town (short cut) and you’ll go thru a very interesting area.

Located in the old French town along Suffren Street, Villa Shanti is just a 3-minute walk from the famous Promenade Beach. excellent room , modern / clean. comfortable bed. great restaurant in hotel . recommend an upper floor since restaurant is in courtyard next to all ground floor rooms.

Situated in Pondicherry, 8 km from Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Le Pondy offers accommodation with a private beach area and a garden. We had a wonderful stay al Le Pondy. The rooms were delightful with a baranda outside with an overhead fan. The staff was attentive to our needs and wants. The message at the Ayurveda center was excellent. Walking on the beach to see the fishermen and especially the sunrise was memorable. We highly recommend Le Pondy.
