Everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we felt wonderful—the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. The stay itself was the highlight of our trip to Japan. We’re already in another city and still keep thinking about it! The room was very spacious, the beds were amazing, and the little terrace—plus the private onsen—was just unbeatable. Imagine soaking in the onsen while looking out into the forest. It’s incredibly calming. We also recommend trying the local breakfast and dinner (book in advance); it’s a truly exceptional culinary experience. Thank you so much for the best stay in the world! This ryokan stands out for its excellent service. All the staff were cheerful, polite, and genuinely welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared, with a wide variety of dishes and excellent taste. You really shouldn’t eat too much beforehand, as the dinner here is plentiful and delicious. The location is great for those planning to visit Kamikochi — it’s just a short walk from the bus station to the ryokan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recover after exploring Kamikochi. This is a hidden gem! I am traveling in a group of 8. We only managed to book for 1 night since they are fully booked. Kaiseki Dinner and breakfast were sumptuous! Staff were really attentive and friendly. We were warmly welcomed with a tea ceremony. They can converse with us in English so communication was really easy. The Onsen! So gooddd.. We liked the outdoor Onsen by the river in particular. Of course, there were also private and public onsen. Plenty of free parking spaces available.

The place was spotless, well-maintained, cozy and instagrammable especially in autumn. The hosts Toshi San and Tomoko San were warm and welcoming and went the extra mile to becoming our tour guide providing us important information about the nearby attractions and restaurants and bus schedules and even giving us a ride to the bus station when we were about to be late, and making sure our stomachs were always full by giving us snacks every now and then. Toshi San even gave us a special tour using his car and he's very familiar with Filipino culture which made us feel at home. Naomi San joined us on our last night, together we had fun chitchat with music and beer, Kampai! 😆 it was an experience that melted our stress away, definitely thankful and looking forward to doing it again.
