I liked literally everything. The staff was extra polite, optional kaiseki and breakfast were exceptional meals, and I'd really recommend going for it. View was excellent, as were amenities like craft beers in the suite, and different kinds of sweets. And the best part is bath, or baths, to be exact. Taking the hot spring bath in open air in the breezy night is kind of a lifechanging experience

Everything - room was way bigger than expected, with 2 full size rooms, 2 bathrooms, balcony and a sitting down area. Also, the hot tub/private onsen was way bigger than it seemed in the photos, and could easily fit 2 people at the same time. The onsen room was also way better looking than in the photos. Also, despite saying that it doesn’t serve dinner, the ‘light meals’ at the lounge are more than enough to satisfy given you can take as many as you want, and quite delicious. My favourite meals here were during the tea time though, so make sure not to miss it.

Everything was great, we could enjoy some authentic hospitability. Our traditional style room was very nice and surprisingly comfortable. The staff was well trained, professional, and polite. We have been picked up at the bus station and brought to the hotel on arrival, as well on our way back. We could enjoy the public and private onsen as well which as a very nice experience, especially seeing Mt. Fuji from the private onsen as a small family. The kaiseki diner we had after bathing was superb, and it was an experience on it's own. Even we only spent one night there, we could relax and wind down. We opted to take the cable car nearby to see Mt. Fuji, and rented some bikes to cycle around the other day before we departed from the town.

Free station pick-up is convenient. The room and public onsen bath were very clean and with fantastic view. Sleepling in the futons on tatami was an interesting experience like in Doraemon and Chibi maruko-chan! It was comfortable, We got a very good rest. We were hosted by a lady from Vietnam, who was kind, attentive and helpful. She clearly introduced each dish during the meal and there was no problem in English communication. The food part was extremely amazing! The dinner and breakfast were very rich and delicious. We fully tasted the flavor of the ingredients and felt the chef's intention👍 This visit was perfect and I will definitely come again.

Spacious room, everything was well arranged and organised. Staff was helpful and professional, and provided all necessary information we needed to know about. And the guidebook in the room showed info about how to travel around the area. And there is a laundry room and we could pay to wash and dry (p.s. very reasonable prices). On-site free parking is a plus too!!

my first time in a ryokan: great experience altogether. very confortable room with futons, nice living/bedroom with two little tables, fridge, kettle with complimentary green tea + a sweet. the use of the internal onsen was great, very clean, quiet. complimentary yukata to use while there was amazing to get into the real atmosphere. free toiletries were also great. the ryokan is 10min by public bus from the main station, close to supermarkets and a couple of places to eat. Village centre is 10min walk.

We have gotten a private onsen in room, and it was an amazing experience! I love how the hotel is situated deep in the forests—the place is peaceful with a view of mount fuji from the room. The room is huge and beautifully furnished with a small tatami room and balcony overlooking the mountains. The haoris and yukatas provided are comfortable along with all the hotel ammenities. There is regular free shuttle to the station, which is very helpful.

True Japanese style room, futons on tatami mats with traditional low table and floor seating for food. Also small conservatory attached, with another table and chairs, and french windows so you can walk out onto balcony to view the trains going into the Kurobe Gorge, the river, and the steeply wooded hillsides. Lovely women’s only indoor Onsen, as well as an outside one. Privacy provided by bamboo screening and umbrella roof. Shuttle bus to and from town/ railway station. Brought “bento” breakfast to our room.

The dinner was huge, fresh and delicious. We also appreciated the traditional breakfast of local foods. The onsens were beautiful and the staff was so kind and caring. I was pleased that I got to choose my yukata. We loved every moment of our stay and left feeling incredibly relaxed.

Great traditional accommodation (Ryokan) with private Onsen. Very spacious rooms with authentic furniture including tatami mats. Coffee, drinks and snacks are for free. The location ist perfect for visiting the beautiful Kenroku-en Garden, the nearby castle or the traditional Geisha quarter (Higashi chaya). The Kanazawa station is approx. 25 minutes away (walking distance) and 10 minutes by taxi.

Lovely family runs ryokan that provides a homely atmosphere. The futons were soft and comfortable. We were a big family travelling together all of us agreed that the rooms were cosy and spacious with plenty of sunlight flooding in. On top of that was we were able to see the stunning view of the Fuji mountain from our rooms. Love the traditional onsens, not one but two. Great location and the Fuji 5 lakes nearby. We initially lost our way to get there, but thanks to the friendly hosts who went outside to meet us.

Absolutely my standout stay in Japan, a place I have both lived and travelled to more than a dozen times. Besho Onsen Midoriya is a beautiful modern Ryokan with private hot spring baths set in the most tranquil of settings. I particularly loved the Kaiseki set course dinner and of course the provided breakfasts. I will be back!
