Hotel staff were very polite and welcoming. The bed was very comfy. Showers were very clean and the room was very big compared to the other hotels in terms of size.

The town was quaint and full of history and character, very narrow streets not good for driving. The Pubs (Ship Inn) was excellent including the food if a bit pricey. The restaurants were excellent (Salamander and Polkirk One )Not cheap but good value for money. Very hilly trying to get out of town centre if you're old or athsmatic.Don't book a hotel up Polkirk Hill it's very steep.

Lovely little village and well worth a visit!
Lovely little village and well worth a visit! It has several really good pubs and restaurants. We’ve only ever been in October but I’m sure it would be lovely during the summer! Driving through the village if you need to get to accommodation up the hill can sometimes be a challenge. Just take it slow and not be in a hurry!

Picturesque harbour village, plenty of places to eat out if you book early, the Salamander was our favourite. Locals are friendly and welcoming. Lovely to walk around very narrow streets. Brilliant little coves and beaches nearby, along coastal path walks.
Lower Barns is a gem! A lovely setting carefully curated by two wonderful hosts, Janie and Mike. I stayed after walking 7 days on the South West Coast Path and it was a magical spot to relax and absorb the unique beauty of Cornwall.
The room was cozy, vibrant and well accomodated. Loved the giant tub & comfy bed! Breakfast was delicious and the beautiful, unique grounds made for good wandering. Thanks for a wonderful stay -wish I could have stayed longer!!
The cottage is in a great location with panoramic views of Mevagissey
Our hosts were extremely accomodating and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable being newly decorated to a very high standard.
The breakfast was delicious. Freshly cooked English breakfast, also a vegetarian option.
Would definitely recommend and will be booking again in the near future...
Thank you for a lovely stay in you beautiful cottage.

We loved Mevagissey. Lovely room. Very clean and comfortable with a great view over the harbour. We really appreciated the quality of the lighting in the room. Very often hotel rooms particularly bathrooms have poor lighting. Helen was an excellent host and the staff were helpful and friendly. It was nice to be in a working port and share the dining room with the local fisherman having their morning coffee.
Mike, the owner, visited on the first evening to ensure that we were happy and to answer questions, which he did. The house is excellent with three en-suite bedrooms and a big kitchen.
Close to St Austell for shopping. Mevagissey is a lovely harbour village with numerous places to eat. The hill is steep but then that is true of most seaside locations in Cornwall!
A super week.
The whole property was delightful. The range of spaces to sit, use and enjoy were really well balanced - there were even books and games to loan. Breakfasts were superb and Caroline is a master of the hollandaise sauce! Both Mike and Caroline were really open and welcoming hosts and had great tips for the local area - even how to master the hill into and out of the village!
The home is a 300 yr old mill house located on a narrow lane in Cornwall, close to Truro and St Austell. The property has been fully upgraded to modern standards and reflects the pursuit of quality by the owners, Denise and Vic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unique and beautiful home. Denise and Vic are talented inn keepers and a real joy to get to know.
Loved the location, beautiful view from the room, balcony and breakfast room and only a 5 minute walk into Mevagissey. The breakfast was delicious with lovely fresh locally produced ingredients. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the dolphins from afar, there were even binoculars available in the room 😀
Located right in the heart of Mevagissey. Great accomodation with all the necessary facilities provided washer/dryer, dishwasher etc. Beautiful fishing village with some great restaurants and a great base to explore surrounding part of Cornwall. Loved our stay and would definitely return to The Backlet in future.
The room was very well presented with a great view across the fields. Excellent breakfast and great hosts. Mevagissey and the surrounding area were lovely and no need to travel far during our 5 night stay. We will certainly return soon.
The view was stunning, breakfast was absolutely superb the Trevalsa Court Hotel is beautiful, lovely walk down to the beach and nearby to the Mevagissey, which we walked down to and enjoyed.
This is an absolute gem in the South West.
Clean well presented hotel with friendly and helpful owners and staff. It has a nice sun deck with great views across the bay. The breakfast provided, although not traditional cooked, was very nice with lots on choice.
A friendly welcome, very comfortable room, delicious breakfast. Good parking at the property with a short walk down into Mevagissey. An ideal base for the area. Also within walking distance of Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Nice clean bright room with comfortable bed. Great location, 5 minute walk down into the harbour area and about a 8 minute walk back up, it’s fairly steep but not too bad. owners are very friendly.
Very friendly hosts, very very clean and comfy room. Everything was spotless, I have stayed in 5 star hotels in the past that could take a lesson from the lovely couple that host this room
The hospitality was excellent, very warm, friendly, couldn’t do enough for you, the little touches was fabulous. Would definitely stay at Mevagissey Bay Hotel again
