Great location! The staff were very helpful - guiding us on how to get around, recommending excellent places to eat, and even helping us adjust our itinerary so we could make the most of our time. The place is very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast is also worth it - the dumplings are delicious, so definitely choose this option!

We had an amazing stay here with the best staff! We originally booked for June but due to the weather the National Park closed. The hotel told us this information immediately so could cancel our flights and activities without losing money. We rebooked for September and the hotel helped us book all the activities and tickets that we needed! They were very welcoming when we arrived and gave us a free upgrade. They were always contactable on WeChat and answered any questions we had. 10/10!

Just back from a wonderful stay at The Avatar Valley Villas and felt compelled to leave a note. Firstly, the location is absolutely spot-on. Situated nicely between both the Cathedral Gardens and Riverside Abbey, it meant we could enjoy a lovely short stroll to each – incredibly convenient and saved us no end of time. What truly made the difference, however, was the staff. Absolutely first-rate! Before we'd even quite figured out our plans for the day, the concierge (James, I believe?) proactively reached out to check if we needed any help with transport. Not only did they swiftly arrange a very comfortable car for our longer trip out to the hills, but they also helped us map out a sensible itinerary and went the extra mile by pre-booking our timed-entry tickets for both main attractions. The place is really magical. I totally recommend it if you want to enjoy the nature and quiet moments. The rooms was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was just exceptional, specially Ms Tien Chang who was like an angel who helped us in everything. We even had a problem with Alipay and she called the center to talk to them in Chinese and it was resolved. The service is perfect. All people there can help you if you need something. The hotel has a luxurious Mercedes that makes the transfer from airport or train station. The laundry is free in hotel. The name of the hotel is Guyu Wonderland. That’s what you have to search in the application “DIDI”, if you want to take a taxi.

The front desk manager added us on WeChat and shared some great routes with us. It feels like the scenic spots in Zhangjiajie are quite confusing if it's your first time visiting, but the hotel we chose offers dedicated concierge services who answered all our questions in detail. Additionally, it's very close to the East Gate of the Forest Park, just a few minutes’ walk, which is very convenient. The transportation is good, the location is quiet and beautiful, and there is a lovely small river right at the entrance.

This is such an incredible place to stay near Zhangjiajie. Being at one of the least popular gates it makes entry to the park easy (10min walk), yet the entrance is well connected by road to major points. The owner was super nice and always helpful. Despite his limited English we were always able to communicate using translator apps. He drove us to the entrance when we asked, looked up bus timetables, he even helped us find new drone propellor within an hour after we clipped them at the park one time. Speaking of drone, if you like flying it this spot is perfect. The park opens way after sunrise and before sunset, however as this place is located in a direct line of sight with the park you can get stunning shots right from the property. It's about a 3km flight, but once you get there your mind will be blown. I recommend the small wooden platform with a wooden heart about 80m right of the property so you don't disturb other guests. The room itself is amazing, bed is huge and super soft. Always clean and smelling nice. Oh, did I mention we got a free room upgrade? You will definitely have a 'purespace' experience here, watching the everchanging moods of this beautiful area through the massive glass windows. The breakfast was included and is simple but yummy. Mostly Chinese option food wise, and its good to note there is not much around so you might need to cab to Wulingyuan if you want lots of food options. It's about 35-40yuan one way on the Didi app. If we ever come back to Zhanjiajie we will definitely stay here again, it made our time here so much nicer!
