A little piece of paradise nestled among the rice fields near Borobudur Temple. We stayed for three nights but wished we could have stayed longer. The spa experience was exceptional, and the restaurant offered delicious food with both Western and Indonesian options—the red snapper was particularly outstanding. The hotel's proximity to Borobudur Temple allowed us to walk there easily, which was a huge plus. The villas are architecturally stunning and incredibly spacious. We loved having our own private jacuzzi, and the decor of the villa was beautifully designed. The service throughout our stay was exceptionally attentive—they truly thought of everything. Special thanks to Hendi and Risma for their outstanding service at the restaurant. We enjoyed strolling around the hotel grounds and appreciated the peaceful surroundings. The breakfast was generous with a great variety of options. Highly recommended!

This Hotel is pure perfection. From check in to check out it was a wonderful experience, and we do not believe it can get any better than this. Staff is highly competent, the rooms and the whole building are just stunningly beautiful, and if you want to see more, explore the outside... there is so much to see. We especially liked the afternoon tea, where you could sit at the rooftop bar and completely unwind. But we also enjoyed the food and drinks in the restaurant, the view from our balcony, the spa and gym...We already dream of coming back here one day!

Possibly the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. In the hills above Borobudur the villas are aesthetically exquisite, a work of art in and of themselves. There is a king size 4-poster bed with mosquito netting in the middle of the room and able it a richly carved wood ceiling. The wood carving outside was also of the highest quality. It was like staying in a museum piece in its best sense. The staff are superb. Ridan and the rest of the team attended our every wish and always with a gracious and genuine smile. The food was excellent and we asked for it to be served on the verandah of our villa. Indonesian food is very sophisticated in its flavoring. Our drivers both from the airport and to Yogyakarta afterwards were efficient and helpful. A highlight was going up to Sinar Hill at 5.30am in the morning to the sunrise over the active volcano Merapi. Don't miss it. The sun rose directly over the volcano's peak when we were there. Coffee was brought to us. Afterwards we swam in their elegant pool then spent the morning in Borobudur temple complex in a VIP tour organized by the hotel. Another "don't miss it" experience. If you're coming to Indonesia, try to see Borobudur and definitely stay at Villa Borobudur Resort.

What an amazing hotel is this. The service was amazing. And so is the view over the hills of Borobudur. I read about the poor breakfast so I was a little worried. I don’t know how people think the breakfast was simple and poor. Everything was freshly made, typical Indonesian and a lot of choice and variety. If you don’t like this type of food consider stay at home with your scrambled eggs and burgers you culture barbarian :)

We chose it for the location and it did not disappoint, walking distance to Borobudur temple, with shops and restaurants on route. The staff were amazing and very friendly, and the beds were huge and comfortable to help with the early start!
