A cosy apartment with a kitchenette filled with breakfast goodies (including home-made cake). It’s less than 15 min walk from the centre of Baveno, so away from the crowds but still convenient, and the area is very pleasant (nice square, old church, mountain views, free parking). And then we also tried a massage by Micky in the studio across the street (what a treat) and a lunch in their tiny restaurant (what a treat again!). Highly recommended!

We had a beautiful room at the Palazzo overlooking Lake Maggiore. The design of the whole hotel was fabulous and everything we ate - breakfast, dinner, snacks - were all amazing. Expensive but worth it!

The Lago Maggiore remains one of the most unsettling places in Europe. Isola Bella stands as a jewel of architecture, dreamlike, suspended, half-composed of hanging gardens illuminated by roses and blue peacocks. Imagine being able to contemplate Borromean islands, all different, historical but alive (‘neither quite the same nor quite another’, as Paul Verlaine wrote) emerging from a silvery lake, from an Olympian height, embracing the surrounding mountains with a single glance. Welcome. Sylvia, your host, perfectly organized and gently methodical, has a logical answer to each of your questions (even before your arrival). The gate opens, your car slowly drives down a gravel driveway, shaded by century-old trees, and the house appears, poised, facing a breathtaking scenery. The architectural terrace, overhanging, offers you this incredible view that you can enjoy from different perspectives, sitting on a bench, or in armchairs, hammocks or smiling blissfully in the modern outdoor jacuzzi. All the facilities are top of the line and explained by Sylvia in detail upon your arrival. Like on a ‘Carte du Tendre’, you can pick shady or sunny spots, isolated or close by, but always carefully thought out. The private wellness room on the ground floor includes all instruments and accessories: saunas, tropical showers, elliptical bike, massage chairs, etc. Later, going up to the small perched space that is dedicated to you (as long as you want to spend an exceptional moment, put the cursor at the maximum), you will find yourself in the middle of the vegetation, still enjoying the view, grandiose, from a small chalet, in a bright space optimized with taste. A fire in the wood stove, two flutes of Prosecco and gentle music will follow. A house designed by an Italian composer in a heavenly garden, pointing at the Borromean Islands with your loved one … if you’re romantic, what are you waiting for? Michel et Carine.

Beautiful opulent building and surrounds. We enjoyed the indoor pool and spa and outdoor pool - so relaxing. And lovely to be served aperitifs on the terrace. Plenty of staff and very attentive service. Just a short stroll to restaurants and the ferry.

The location is exceptional. The hotel has a lovely garden with sunbeds, direct access to the lake where you can swim or use a paddleboard (available at the hotel), and the view from the garden is fantastic. You can see the whole Bay and the St. Giovanni Island is so close. Other islands are within reach (rented boat or "public transportation ferry" from village (10 min walk maximum). There are premium rooms have the lake view / we had "street view" and were a bit afraid that it would be noisy / was not at all. We were lucky with the weather and were outside on the sunbeds / however, there is indoor swimming pool as well.
