I felt really well looked after, the staff always checking to make sure I was happy and even a delicious aloe Vera drink on arrival. My host even gave me directions to get to Ella on the bus and came to make sure I found the bus stop ok- this was so lovely! They are recently opened so limited reviews but it’s a charming safari bungalow, the only one on the property, with a beautiful garden and thoughtful dining area for guests. Speaking of dining, this will be the best, most prolific food you’ve had in Sri Lanka. They really thoughtfully accommodated my vegetarian and gluten free diet with ease. There is a lovely river near the property you can explore and enjoy reading and relaxing between safari journeys and be well taken care of. They coordinated our safari, which was incredible! So many up close elephant encounters!, and helped us with transportation to them and away, making the whole experience care free and enjoyable. If you can enjoy a rustic safari cabin experience (well, not so rustic because there is a/c 😆) while being cared for by the sweetest family then look no further and enjoy Green Paradise.

The Sri Lankan curry and Sri Lankan breakfast were incredible and the portion sizes were huge. The added extras were a bonus such as the complimentary 10 minute massage, the welcome drink, afternoon tea and mocktail with dinner. The location was perfect for safari. The staff were so accommodating and friendly!! The attention to detail at this hotel was fabulous, we could not understand how they manage to keep everything so clean and pristine but they do. We both agreed that this is one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had!!

The property features garden views. The guest house has family rooms. Great place, room facilities exceeded our expectations- very good value for money. The room decor was almost jungle-like, plus air conditioning and a kettle in the room. What we loved the most was the bathroom with tiles in tigers🩷 We arrived in the evening and there was a delicious dinner waiting for us made by the host, who was incredibly hospitable and fed us throughout our stay. The food was delicious. He also organised a safari along with provisions for the journey. All in all, I highly recommend this place, there is also an elephant orphanage nearby and everything is surrounded by a wealth of nature 💚💚💚💚🌴

Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. City Elephant is ideally situated for getting to the park, right on the main drag through town. The owners are super friendly. My room was large with a good bed and good AC. The restaurant out by the street looks unassuming, but DO eat there...these guys cook beautifully. I had a rice/curry lunch that was just lovely.
