We used the refrigerator and microwave to heat up meals we had brought. The breakfast was excellent, and the ambience of the lobby and dining room is very grand. We chose this hotel because we had stayed here before and it is close to the Polka Dot Agate Mine where we dug large thunder eggs. It is also a short jaunt to Smith Rock State Park.

This location is EVERYTHING! we left our car and walked over to Pelican Brewing for dinner and then back. To wake up to these views was the highlight of our entire trip so far. We had an amazing stay at Surfsand Resort! From the moment we arrived, we felt really welcomed and taken care of. The staff was super friendly and kind, and it was such a nice surprise to get a free welcome drink at check-in! There are always hot drinks available in the lobby—hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and apple cider. Such a cozy little bonus, especially after being out in the fresh air. Our room was super clean and felt newly renovated. We loved the comfy bathrobes, the big bathtub, and the fireplace—it all made the stay extra cozy. Plus, we had a beautiful view of Haystack Rock right from our room! One of the best parts was how close the beach is—less than a 2-minute walk, which is amazing, especially with kids. We also booked the beach bonfire for $50, and it was such a fun experience. The staff set everything up and gave us everything for s’mores—sticks, marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate. It was the perfect beach night! There’s also a warm indoor pool and a hot tub on site, which our kids loved and we really enjoyed too. Honestly, this hotel feels like the most budget-friendly option in the area, but it delivers 100% and even more. Great value for the price. We stayed with our two kids and loved everything—no complaints at all. We’ll definitely be back!
